It should be a good thing. Congrats! Are you in- or out-of-state?

Out-of-state
Ok, then... Let's continue to wait till March for out-of-state scholarship decisions.

Yes... scholarship will certainly play a major part in my decision about USC, none-the-less acceptances are always exciting (if thats what I'm getting)

Do in state scholarships and out of state scholarships come at the same time? I think I'm in (although not a lock, in state 161/3.4), but scholarships will play a big part in my decision making and I hear they're stingy with in state cash. So that's making me a little nervous.

If it helps, I applied right after December LSAT score release, and I got the scholarship letter in April, I think. 24k(8k a year) 164/3.6.

Was the scholarship offer for in-state or out-of-state? If OOS, 8K/yr seems very little for your stats. Additionally, did you ever enter into a negotiation with them? If so, I'd love to hear your story.

Is anyone else concerned about South Carolina's recent drop in the rankings? The 2011 rankings have them out of the top 100 as a Tier 3 school..

in-state. I ended up going with UGA since I got in-state equalization there, so I didn't bother negotiating.

USC mailed my decision today!!!! Is that a good sign?? (complete 11/12, 161/3.4). I used to think I had a great chance, but the fast turnaround has made me panic!

Not particularly. I'd be concerned if there was another, higher ranked law school in the state. But my supervisor says if you want to work in SC, you'd be stupid to go anywhere else (including Charleston) because there's such a heavy draw on USC's grads. Of course, he also said if you wanted to work anywhere outside of SC, you'd be stupid to go to USC...

When did you first submit apps online? I'm just curious what the turn around is from submission to complete status.

My decision letter was mailed today too. I applied on 11/4and think I went complete on 11/12. The address on the status check page isn't my current address, it's my permanent address. I wonder if they are sending it to my parents house.. hmmm

In via snail mail earlier this week. If you are getting letters this early it is most likely a good sign!

Congrats! Of those 5 schools, which is your top choice without regard to $$?

Actually, Emory is my top choice, but I haven't applied to them since they don't hold applications. I'll apply after I get my December score. Of those schools, I'd say Wake Forest or UGA are my top choices, although Wake is somewhat of a reach and UGA is a definite reach. It'll all depend on my December LSAT

Best of luck in December! FWIW, South Carolina is moving upward on my list of schools. I may end up there.

Hey all, I've been complete at USC since Nov. 4 and I even had some contact with the office (for another reason) and they said my app was going to the admissions committee the next day-this was two weeks ago, but my status hasn't changed to "Review." The only reason I'm worried is that I have a reckless driving conviction that stemmed from a DUI charge and many other applicants seems to have quick turn arounds this early in the cycle.

Stats are 2.58/163.

I know I sound crazy, we all do, but what do yall think?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
