Yeah, you really can't beat the in-state tuition. As of right now, I'm only applying to one school out of FL but I may add more to that list. I'm pretty sure I will end up practicing in FL, so I'm not sure if it would be to my disadvantage or not to go to a school out of state if I do end up back in FL.Barbie wrote:Same here. I'm applying to 20 schools (16 with fee waivers, though) and the great majority of them are out of state. I just haven't really travelled so Idk where I want to live yet... I'm applying to... UConn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Wake Forest, UGA, Iowa, Wisconsin, Tulane etc. (But UF and FSU are veeeery high on my list. In-state tuition FTW!)charlesxavier wrote:I applied to more out of state schools than FL schools. I don't want to work in FL long term. I was already accepted at Tennessee and as long as my wife gets a job I qualify for in state tuition right away. I also applied to Cincy, OSU, and Iowa.flgator10 wrote:Where else is everyone applying? I'm guessing everyone wants to eventually end up in Florida so are you guys applying to all FL schools or some out of state ones also?

Honestly, in-state tuition is an amazing deal at either school and is probably why I will stay in FL. After all the budget cuts I am surprised it's as cheap as it is still.

Yes, but you should know that tuition is going up at both school in the near future. There's a slight increase for this year, if I'm right.ns77770 wrote:Honestly, in-state tuition is an amazing deal at either school and is probably why I will stay in FL. Even if it went up 25% it would still be significantly cheaper than most OOS.Tuyarp wrote:Yes, but you should know that tuition is going up at both school in the near future. Your GPA eats my GPA's soul, even with FSU taking my ~3.8 degree GPA haha. Are you applying anywhere else or are you all set now?minuit wrote:Thanks!! Is FSu your # 1 choice? Where else did you apply, if you don't mind me asking?

Haha, don't worry, they'll leave you a message. But if you want to pick it up, the area code is 850.Barbie wrote:omg! I never answer strange phone numbers. What is tally's area code? FSU wasn't my #1 choice at the beginning of the cycle. I applied to a wide range of schools. If you want me to be more specific, PM me.ns77770 wrote:Tuyarp wrote:Yes, that's how they like to inform you early in the application cycle.

Hey barbie mentioned that FSU will take you degree GPA if higher than cumulative. Is that a rumor or is that a thing that school admits publicly? Oh I really!!! hope they do take degree GPA!

I called 2 diff times to verify, and they said yes its true! you can call yourself if you dont believe metas817 wrote:Hey barbie mentioned that FSU will take you degree GPA if higher than cumulative. they said they take the higher of the two, as long as you have taken a substantial amt (prob 40+) credits there. this is for admissions purposes, not sure ab scholarship or anything of the sort.
