If applications are reviewed in the order of completion; scholarships may well be also. The point is, we don't know, and $75 is worth it, IMO, to give yourself the best possible chance at a scholarship.tkgrrett wrote:Wait.. Im confused. Chicago doesn't make decisions until late Dec. Why would it affect his scholarship chances to wait til early to mid november?? Have you all heard that scholarship decisions are made as they review individual applications and sent out with admit decisions?

Ehh that still would require knowing if he was in the first batch of decisions or later batches before a conclusion can really be drawn. I never even thought about this though. I guess I kind of assumed the whole point of them doing decisions so late was so they could get an idea of the applicant pool and then distribute money accordingly. Seems a top 5/6 school would expect way too many super strong applicants to distribute money chronologically like that.oxford_don wrote:I think this is right. Re: UChicago 2011
I stalked LSN, and there are clear divisions in terms of when you hear back in terms of when you submitted. Pre-Oct you can hear back in late December, in Oct last year before the LSAT scores were released you heard back the third week of January, and after that you had a shot of either that same time in January or a couple weeks later in February.
So the release dates pretty much correspond to when you submit. Though I have no idea about scholly stuff.

Last year I submitted at the very beginning of November. I was accepted at the start of February and heard about financial aid a few weeks later.
Not sure how the new Rubenstein scholarships will be given out this year, or how that'll shake up the admissions cycle.

Same here. I was excited for awhile, but I've slowly come to terms with the fact that it's just going to take till December regardless.

Submitted on Monday. Also...I accidentally left out the hrs/wk on the resume (yeah, I know, I am an idiot
). Think I should let it ride or try to e-mail them the copy with hrs/wk? I guess I should contact them to ask...I am just trying to take the least damaging route.

Think it is a big deal? Don't want to call and point it out if it isn't. Hmm....Eskimo, where are you? Given me some insight on your love, Chicago!

I did the same thing. I don't think it's a huge deal. I think it's one of those things where they are looking for a reason if say your gpa is a little low. You can provide one if you worked a lot of hours during the school year. But if you don't include hours they'll just assume it wasn't an intensive job.tkgrrett wrote:Ehh I did the same thing.. didnt even notice they asked until you said something.. uh ohCalla Lily wrote:Submitted on Monday. me toooo damn, the bad thing about applying so early is that you have plenty of time to find/agonize over your mistakesKnockglock wrote:I did the same thing. I doubt that would be the deciding factor of whether you get in or not. My guess is that many people forget to do that- and that maybe they consider it a plus if you pay more attention to details and follow the directions? At least this is what I am hoping, as I left out hrs/week too. Wishful thinking perhaps but I think it would be crazy if they filled a class based upon who included "hrs/wk" in their resumes, no?

Wait. Where did they ask for hrs/week on res?
Edit: Oh. I see now. Who actually reads the instructions like that for every app? Wooops.

Re: UChicago 2011
It was on the website, where it describes the application components, but it wasn't actually listed on the application itself.
ETA: Also listed in the school's instructions/checklist for their LSAC application
