You should have found this site sooner. 3.94/162 Native American is an absolute lock for ED. Hopefully they don't screw you out of money, seeing as you would have been competitive at most of the T14.

Thanks Tenenbaum, I hope you're right. I knew applying would be a nightmare but I had no idea it would be this stressful. In a twisted way I have to kinda hope ND isn't dominant in football so folks on the fence won't be enticed to ED.

Notre Dame is my top choice as well and I will be applying ED before the end of this month. 164/3.76/URM Mexican. I know my numbers and URM status make me competitive but I'm still very nervous because I have to disclose 6 different arrests from my senior year in high school and freshman year in college.

Good luck to everyone!

I got a little booklet from them yesterday, and even though I knew it wouldn't have a decision, I still ravished through it looking for a "Dear Ms. XXX, we're happy to extend to you..." whatever...
Meh... it was just a view book.... :D

Haha I got the same thing and even though it clearly could not have contained a letter (it wasn't even in an envelope) I still got a little flustered. I don't have a chance with the school but really just applied so I wouldn't have to always wonder "what if."

I haven't even applied yet and my stomach still flipped when I saw the envelope. This is going to be torture.

Message me if you're visiting and I can share how to get a discounted hotel room not too far from campus. I used the priceline negotiating feature but set it up to ensure I got the hotel I wanted (Hyatt Place for $61/night).

I think you will have trouble getting past 6 arrests. Did you wind up with many convictions? Have you searched TLS for other posts that are similiar in nature?

I've looked around. There seems to be a dearth of information on this website about applying to law school with a criminal record. I know I'm probably screwed, but we'll see. I haven't been in any trouble in 3 years, my grades are a lot better, and I've been employed ever since the last incident, so hopefully admissions will be understanding.

No convictions, completed probation or deffered adjudication successfully for everything.

4 arrests here from freshman year college/high school.. already in at Duke and was invited to/completed Harvard interview stage without them even bothering to ask about the arrests. Be honest and you will probably be fine as long as they arent anything serious.

Anyone want to swap or look over my 'Why Notre Dame' essay?

Sorry abarrios, I am so burned out on Why ND I want to pretend it never existed. Is anyone else getting nervous after looking at LSN? There doesn't seem to be any order to who gets accepted, especially with the EAs last year. I wonder how different it will be now that it's binding.

Good luck guys. My app is in as well. Notre is my top pick, but if they do not offer me pretty good scholarships I probably won't go. In this economy, I really think it's important to leave school w/o much debt.

do you think mentioning my 17 years of Catholic education will give me a boost?

I also went to many years of catholic school too, although I also got a job at one of those schools after getting to college so it's on my resume. I wonder how many of their grad school applicants went to catholic schools, went to public colleges and hated it and now want to go back.
