okay, so they say they don't rank their waitlist, but there has to be a method to how they pull off the waitlist. any ideas? or anyone know how it was done in the previous years?

quite simple. every school does it the same way. they calculate their GPA and LSAT in 25/50/75. Then they admit people that will either raise it or hold it steady. simple as that.

im guessing yield is secondary to raising and sustaining their 25/50/75. those #'s are worth more then having a worse yield rate. that and anyone who sticks around the waitlist this long will most likely attend.

So I called the admissions office on friday to ask when they would be using the waitlist- since it is already June (basically), and she told me that she didn't know. THen she said "But I will tell you that our final deposit deadline is June 15". haha, I guess that was a hint or something!. So I'm assuming that the week of June 15, they will be pulling at least a few people off the waitlist. Right?.... From the UCD thread someone already withdrew so there's at least 1 spot. Lets hope for the best

Yeah, I think it's just a function of the massive increase in applications UCD received this cycle. I mean, they are known for taking longer than many to issue all their decisions, but this year has been absurd, so my bet is it's just a matter of their small office fighting to get through all the apps, period. I don't think that this year they suddenly decided to be less efficient, or more lazy.

Regarding waitlist, that June 15 sounds like a pretty solid signpost. I'm just gonna assume that nothing (save maybe one or two offers) happens with WL offers until then. That means I don't have to think about Davis for a couple weeks now.

I've decided if I don't hear by friday, I have to withdraw- I have other deadlines for grad school and I can't take any more chances....Thanks Davis for being the most inconsiderate and inefficient out of all the law schools

i know how you feel. im disappointed as well. this is the most stressful process ever. my employer hates me bc they keep on asking if im staying or leaving and all i can say is i dont know... if only the davis people would respond a little quicker and let us know whether or not we really will be at their school for the next couple years of our lives......

i wish you the best with whatever decision you decide to make. please keep us updated!

no movement here. but seeing as Monday and Tuesday have both been forced furlough days for the admissions dept. then I don't think we'll see movement until AT LEAST the beginning of next week to allow time to look at the numbers of the 2nd seat deposits and the wait list...

I received an email from mrs. Pinkney yesterday stating, "we will be taking a serious look at the class very shortly and we will make sure to have your letter available to the readers when the waiting list is considered."

Take it for what its worth.

i think that was a response to his LOCI. i don't think it was a mass email to everyone.

My guess is that Foosters Galore had sent a letter that Mrs. Pinkney is referencing. I can't see an email like that coming out of the blue without some kind of prompting action.
