I wonder if one or two spots in the rankings (outside of T3) would mean any difference as far as employment prospects are concerned. Not like employees are suddenly going to recruit less from Chicago just because it fell to 7 or even 8.

The historical rankings have some shifting between Stanford and Harvard, and Columbia and NYU. The job opportunities, surprisingly, were not affected by this, nor was actual educational quality. It almost makes you wonder if these rankings have the powers we ascribe to them at all.

Even though this is probably bogus, why rank Duke ahead of Northwestern? Seriously, do judge and peer scores really matter that freaking much?

They're substantial in the calculations. But NW also has a low median GPA due to taking tons of work-experience splitters, and its selectivity is declining because fewer people fresh from undergrad are applying. NW's strategy of requiring work experience is definitely carving out a niche for the school, but that strategy also kills its competitiveness in the rankings. We'll see if NW decides that rankings are more important than its niche in the long run.

No guarantee that these are accurate, however.

NU's medians are 3.70/170, compared to Michigan's 3.70/169, Duke's 3.76/169, and Berkeley's 3.83/168. In fact, NU has the 9th highest medians behind the T6, UVA (3.85/170), and Penn (3.82/170).

What really kills NU is their low assessment scores due to having a corporate rather than academic slant.
