wondering if the silence means they're just working on finalizing the ding/WL piles.
I no longer refresh the status checker for date changes; I'm just focused on the "Mailings" section waiting for "Waitlist Notification Email" to pop up.

but wouldn't this preliminary evaluation change our dates? cause they have to review our apps to decide which pile they're going to discard us into lol right?

I hope you're right. Seriously, waiting is worse. Any decision is better than my having to obsess & incessantly speculate.

I'm not saying we should resurrect the topic of NYU and its lack of timely communication and transparency, but let's resurrect the topic of NYU and its lack of timely communication and transparency for a second.

It's not even just NYU though...I'm ghosted by CLS too. I know it's not as many people waiting, though.

If you feel despair, just remember that NYU actually has *a lot* of movement off the WL.

http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... p?t=225363

Getting a WL isn't necessarily terrible other than the confounded stress. According to a lady at housing, it's also easy to live in the dorms if you are amenable to suite style living.

I don't understand it one bit. I looked deeper into last year and this behavior is business standard for them. People with Sept, Oct, Nov UR dates heard for the first time from NYU on April 19th and 20th. 7 to 8 months? What are they really doing over there, aside from making offers to stellar LSAT applicant gunners who won't go to NYU anyway?

Applicants with September and October UR dates are supposed to believe contrary to logic that they've been reviewed and re-reviewed time and time again in spite of the lack of date change? Come the fuck on. And when you ask them about the status checker it's an eye roll bullshit form reply. They copy and paste their email replies directly from their website FAQ section, too.

Warning! Rant:

I hate the way NYU is disrespecting its applicants this cycle. There are far too many of us who haven't heard anything. I have already deposited at a school I would be happy to attend, but I am still super frustrated. Do they understand that this is a business transaction? It's not like we are waiting in line at the free clinic here. We spent hours working on these applications and/or paying the application fee in hopes of attending their institution and paying their ungodly tuition rate. Instead of treating us with respect, you continue to shit on us day in and day out. It's been more than half a year since some of us submitted our applications. I am sick and tired. Honestly, truly. There's no excuse at this point. I am so over them! LOL

and I paid nearly $100 for this? We don't pay to get accepted, fine, but we pay to finance the relationship. as in, it goes both ways. as in you need to communicate with your applicants.

I don't know about anyone else but yes, the obsession I have with this school is evident. I've poured an inordinate amount of time and resources beyond what is standard and it feels as if nothing really matters; your date doesn't change, you can count on nothing happening for you. and if you inquire about this, good luck - they don't give a shit about keeping anyone waiting.

Do we know if people go UR --> DLS --> Waitlist? Or just DLS --> Waitlist?
