This. Sounds like BigLaw --> BigFed is a pretty solid exit option for some people. I'm committed to government PI work, but if I thought it would be better down the road, I wouldn't be opposed to that route. I figured being willing to work for a pittance while having other options would be commitment enough. Purity tests, etc., sound annoying.brinicolec wrote:Usually have to make sure you demonstrate some interest in PI somehow though because apparently a lot of people want to see a commitment to PI.Rigo wrote:Yes.Rubbishdump wrote:Is Big Law -> PI a path some people take?

Eh, I think it's more about the fact that the pay is pretty low (comparatively, and also just generally sometimes) and the work is sometimes more trying, so they just want people that won't tap out when things get hard. Someone who's truly passionate about the job is also probably more likely to put in the amount of work that's needed.Rubbishdump wrote:I figured being willing to work for a pittance while having other options would be commitment enough. It all depends on what PI work you're interested in though.

It is a time closer to late April, when all schools have to answer by and I can know wth my life is going to be for the next three years and I can resume some semblance of a normal, healthy, mind set.

Re: TLS c/o 2020 Applicants (hotdog pole)
I think the 175 and 177 increases are partially an artifact of a few tests not having a possible 176 score this cycle. Even then, it's a net increase of 20 175/177 scores and a decrease of 89 176 scores, so we're still in good as far as that's concerned.jjcorvino wrote:175 and 177 upMonday wrote:You can embed tweets, you know.hellohalo wrote:LSAT:140–144 145–149 150–154 155–159 160–164 165–169 170–174 175–180 Pct Chg: YTD -14.4% -1.1% 1.6% 3.5% 4.3% 1.1% -11.8% 0.9% -25.8%
More legible format here. Maybe it doesnt matter though since 175+ is down?

Re: TLS c/o 2020 Applicants (hotdog pole)
If I were ever in a position to do so, I would reform the LS admissions process so that interview requests, acceptances and rejection/waitlist decisions are released according to a schedule published in advance. It would really take the edge off, and it's how business schools do it. Wouldn't that make it easier from adcoms' POV as well (fewer unnecessary LOCIs/calls)?

I can't do basic math anymore
what's the formula to solve how many applicants had each specific score last year based on this years applicants and the percentage change?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
