Are your numbers in your profile correct?

Stats are 100% accurate. I have seen all but one of my LORs. I had two law professors look over my PS. I also have work experience as an educator and coach as well as some significant softs. I understand the speculation, something is clearly off-putting about me/my app. I've never committed a crime or anything either, because I am certain some may speculate that as well, ha ha.

For whatever it is worth, I applied for deferred admission at Michigan. They were animate that it is increasingly more difficult to be admitted via differed admission.

I'm not going to lie, I am very upset about what has happened thus far, but my only choice is to persevere.

Good god a massacre. I'm hoping at least to be WLed so I can woo them with a LOCI. Mich has categorically dethroned all schools for me.

Definitely did the thing where I minimize the screen, then pull it up slowly, inch by inch, so I'm not hit with the rejection all at once.

Your numbers are way, way too close to mine for comfort. I'm not digging this. In fact, I've got a little heartburn over it.

I feel for everyone. It's going to be a tough defeat to swallow, no doubts about it. I've said it before: the best thing to do is drink an entire bottle of a bold Willamette Valley Pinot Noir while searching for apartments near the schools to which you're already admitted. It's the only way to get through this.

If you haven't already, send in a Why Michigan as soon as you can. Hopefully they haven't made a decision yet... so far everyone I've heard of who has gotten rejected w/ good numbers didn't write an additional essay.

I did send a Why Mich and have a targeted letter of recommendation. I think that's all that's keeping me afloat right now. If I were going to do this cycle again (with the knowledge that I would get the wait list at Chicago) I would ED to Michigan.

Not to be alarmist but the fact that Poptorts hasnt gotten in ANYWHERE in the T14 may mean that there's something about his app holding schools back, not necessarily YP.... I'm just speculating though.

I was thinking the same thing... Did you get a look at your recs by any chance?

Maybe his app is so impressive that the lower T14 thinks he may have a shot at Yale. Yale doesn't release any decisions until like April, right? And quite a few of his apps are still pending, so I think it's too early to speculate.

While YP does happen I just think it's really unlikely to get YPed by EVERY school. Some schools will still try to pry you away with big scholly offers. And if submitted back in November, he should have heard from somewhere by now.

You could be right though, he has YLS numbers.

Yeah, I didn't send a Why Michigan essay because I wasn't really set on Michigan until after I applied (and I thought 3.94/172 paired with what seems to be a pretty solid application should carry me). I probably should have, but I wasn't really sure what reasons I could give that would make for a well composed, sincere sounding essay.
Oh well, maybe Michigan knows something I don't about my prospects at HYS...
