Congratulations to JS, but I hope KB really gets back into this quickly...

This year's cycle has been all sorts of weird.

I applied last year, held --> waitlist, and I have to say this year is a lot more fun. Everybody's either held or pregnant, and Nulli is still around.
If I am waitlisted again, I'm going to work on getting someone pregnant so that I can write a heartfelt LOCI about it over the summer. Thoughts?

Arkansawyer was around as well from last year, but he got accepted and everybody called him a flame because of bogus stats in his profile. Thought about commenting but didn't. Seriously though, I withdraw from waitlist with an explanation like "I need moar time for all the formalities" and we are almost in April again because of babies everywhere.snehpets wrote:adam1 wrote:I applied last year, held --> waitlist, and I have to say this year is a lot more fun. I still don't really understand why they didn't just finish the year with KB. Did they really gain by having a different admissions dean for a month?

April again indeed, amigo. If US News considered Fertility in its rankings, HLS would undoubtedly be a Top 2 school.

It sounds like KB needed some maternity leave, so JB covered for her and vice-versa. Makes sense in a strange way.FryBreadPower wrote:I still don't really understand why they didn't just finish the year with KB. Did they really gain by having a different admissions dean for a month?

HLS admissions needs a dedicated tabloid.FryBreadPower wrote:Ah. I had no idea KB had a child.Killingly wrote:It sounds like KB needed some maternity leave, so JB covered for her and vice-versa. Oh, wow. I don't know guys, but if they knew they were going to have to switch their admissions dean midway through the year, it kind of would have made sense to pick a new dean who wasn't already, like, eight months pregnant. I'm all in favour of more babies, but all these transitions are a little unfair for those of us that have deadlines at other schools to keep in mind.

I agree that it's frustrating, but then again, they never guaranteed that we would have a decision before mid to late April, did they?curiouscat wrote:Oh, wow. I agree. HLS had plenty of time to find someone to cover for both of them.curiouscat wrote:Oh, wow. +1 if this is as sarcastic as I think it is. JS seems like she's a wonderful person and dean and deadlines really won't seem as important as they do now once this is all over. I think everyone is just a little jumpy about the impending conclusion of our cycles.adam1 wrote:Totes agree. your deadlines>>>>>>someone getting a fair shot at a job they deserveEvelynS wrote:I agree. Nope not til next year. But seeing this thread move by 12 posts in a minute's span got my hopes up that maybe they were preemptively sending acceptances to 2012-13 applicants with high numberssnehpets wrote:haha you're not applying till next year right?bernaldiaz wrote:

So you were serious? I was preempting a lengthy women in the workplace discussion with that post, not encouraging them to continue in the same vein. I guess your LSAT LR & RC were easier than usual.bernaldiaz wrote:Nope not til next year.
