For what its worth I talked to admissions office and they said that they hoped things would be out by May 1st but no promises. I am in the boat of never getting an initial response (not on hold).

I can't quite figure out if I'd be disappointed or relieved if I get home and find a ding letter in the mail. Probably both.billydaduck wrote:For what its worth I talked to admissions office and they said that they hoped things would be out by May 1st but no promises. honestly, at this point, relieved; I am in dire need of making some serious decisions.
Somehow the school I most want to go to is the absolute latest one to get back to me.
Good luck everyone.

At this point I'd be relieved, CLS is the last school to get back to me and also the first I applied to.bravo1085 wrote:I can't quite figure out if I'd be disappointed or relieved if I get home and find a ding letter in the mail. Me too! If they take this long and then don't AT LEAST put me on the waitlist, I think I'm gonna shit a brick.Nonconsecutive wrote:At this point I'd be relieved, CLS is the last school to get back to me and also the first I applied to.bravo1085 wrote:I can't quite figure out if I'd be disappointed or relieved if I get home and find a ding letter in the mail. I am. Honestly this whole thing feels like a massive joke to me.beefjerky wrote:I am! Not sure if it is a good sign or not, given responses other people have gotten so far. Thoughts?Platoismyking wrote:Any ED -> Deferred applicants still waiting to hear back?

I saw him on the L train in BK. He actually lives around there I think, so if you go to NYU and go to BK often you might end up seeing him. I wanted to yell "Omar comin!" but I didn't want to draw attention to him.OMAR_COMIN_YO wrote:Oh, indeed.Elleonleo wrote:omar comin yo

Re: Columbia c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
In my considerations I was not as debt averse, but very risk averse. Grades, especially 1L fall, depend on a lot of different factors, many of which are out of our control. I want to attend a school that would allow me to still have a shot at my goals, even if I slip up my first fall (get sick during finals, have a particularly hard professor(s), just get unlucky on one test, aren't as smart as I think I am, etc). The difference between having to stay in the top 50% and top 75% to land a BigLaw job is huge, and well worth the extra money to me. CCN not only have better prospects in BL generally, they also have better prospects for top firms. The way I looked at it, CCN costs more, but not only offers a better long-term payout, but is also a safer investment.JSWright101 wrote:
Hmm...tbh I'm pretty strongly debt averse and to me $$$ in the T14 (besides maybe GULC) is much much much better than $$ at CCN.

This was a tough one. After much angst and agony, decided to give up the Hammy and withdrew from Columbia.
Best of luck to all, and I sincerely hope that the extra money will land on someone's lap and make him/her/them happy very soon!!

Do you think anyone will be admitted today? Or are we all getting pushed to "reserve"?

I've been wondering the same. On my status checker it states notifications will arrive via snail mail, however, it seems that plenty of applicants have been notified via e-mail.
Also, for those who have already received a decision, did your status checker ever change from "Complete"? I've been marked complete since 4/7 so I'm assuming that's the final update before a decision...

Did you recieve a notice if you were held or was that an informal thing?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
