Harvard's email format is pretty straightforward. For the most part it's [firstinitial][lastname]@law.harvard.edu. Students and alums are [firstinitial][lastname]@jd[XX].law.harvard.edu, where XX is their two digit class year. Won't post actual addresses here but if anyone really wants to email JS it shouldn't be too tough to figure out how.

It is public in that it is listed in the Harvard Directory. Which anyone, even someone aspiring to HLS, should be able to figure out how to access.

I would do that if I am lucky enough to receive JS2. Pictures will not be a problem.
No I bet she'll love it. Please go find out whether that's true for all of us. And pics or didn't happen.[/quote]

Dunno if individual emails are available. You could send a thank you note to the admissions email and address it to Lauren, but I'm not sure.
ETA: or show up at her doorstep yourself with a present, even better!

Thank you appind. I do not think they would even look at the whole email (although it would be only a couple of sentences), but doing this makes me feel a little more comfortable. The effect should be zero for them, but a little positive for me:)

Rseaney, Thank you! I did not know that KB recommended we should send this email. It is great to know that she did give some suggestion.
rseaney wrote:I think this is a pretty reasonable line of thought, but we do have Karen Buttenbaum, HLS' last Dean of Admissions, saying that they're a nice gesture. I'd say based on that go ahead and send her a quick thanks -- I wish I had.appind wrote:wise words but I guess point has been made and also taken well by dirac in the right spiritNo I bet she'll love it. Thank you LetsGoMets. Maybe sometimes it is first two letters of the given name plus the family name?

Re: JS1/JS2 timing
I've seen it said a couple times on here that there will likely be one, maybe 2 more waves of JS2s before the waitlist. Do you think this means that the most recent round of JS1s that went out are destined for the waitlist?

Highly unlikely if apps were just processed later. Of course some people will be JS1 - WL but I think there will be a JS2 batch that includes some of the latest interviews as well.bretby wrote:Re: JS1/JS2 timing

For the record, most universities have publicly accessible directories that list individual email addresses. Harvard's is found here. https://www.directory.harvard.edu/phonebook/

I think the acceptance with the latest JS1 date on LSN is 2/12. Do you have a later one noted somewhere?meyer5541 wrote:What is the latest interview date that anyone has seen accepted? I had one kid/late Feb and am wondering where I stand

Judging from previous posts, it seems like you'd be an outlier if you got a JS2 this soon after your interview. Unless someone else from this wave can chime in with a later JS1 date than 2/13?meyer5541 wrote:I had one on 2/18...can I assume I'm still too late to have heard yet?zaetoroftheprotoss wrote:If it helps, my interview was on 2/13 with the JS2 in this most recent wave.schoenberg wrote:I think the acceptance with the latest JS1 date on LSN is 2/12. Is the consensus that JS1's are done until after the waitlist comes out?

Doubt it. They don't have interviews scheduled past the end of this week. I'm sure they must need to get at least a few more in before it's waitlist time.lawapp1 wrote:Is the consensus that JS1's are done until after the waitlist comes out?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Here's a bit of an update for everyone:
In total, we have had 22 JS1 waves and 7 days of JS2s (4 waves). The following is the amount of people within each JS1 wave who has received a JS2. I'm doing this by interview invitation date rather than actual interview because this data is accessible and there shouldn't be too much difference for people within the same wave (1-2 weeks maximum).
Oct 27: 7 of 11 (11 JS1s were reported in this wave, and 7 have now reported JS2s)
Oct 31: 8 of 8
Nov 3: 5 of 7
Nov 10: 12 of 14
Nov 14: 4 of 5
Nov 24: 10 of 18
Dec 4: 5 of 10
Dec 12: 2 of 4
Dec 15: 5 of 6
Dec 24: 12 of 21
Jan 6: 1 of 2
Jan 8: 7 of 21
Jan 23: 2 of 2
Jan 26: 4 of 8
Feb 2: 1 of 3
Feb 5: 7 of 13
Feb 6: 1 of 1
Feb 16: 0 of 1
Feb 19: 0 of 2
Feb 23: 0 of 3
Mar 6: 0 of 11
In total, this thread has reported 174 JS1s, 96 JS2s, and 35 rejections.

I think kadyevna is on the money here, I think we'll see one more JS2 wave before the WL.kadyevna wrote:last year, a little more than 150 people reported JS2 in this thread, a bit less than 125 of them were pre-waitlist , this cycle, we have almost 90 JS2s reported so far including the wave we just had, of course, many assumptions need to be made here, and I think pylon has more accurate data, as always. If i can say anything from this data, they're still behind, but not by very much, it is likely we'll see another JS2 wave or two before waitlist becomes a realityIngmarKurosawa wrote:Anyone have any insight as to how many applicants have been admitted so far? If I had to guess, I'd say HLS has offered ~550 acceptances. From this I'd say they have filled about 60% of their class so far.

I think that also squares with the estimate that TLS Harvard thread = ~15% of applicant pool.pylon wrote:I think kadyevna is on the money here, I think we'll see one more JS2 wave before the WL.kadyevna wrote:last year, a little more than 150 people reported JS2 in this thread, a bit less than 125 of them were pre-waitlist , this cycle, we have almost 90 JS2s reported so far including the wave we just had, of course, many assumptions need to be made here, and I think pylon has more accurate data, as always.
