+1. Not doing the sit at the computer and watch my email thing today though. Think I'll go get a burrito and buy a book. Will check in ~230.
That makes one of us...hopefully good news is to come!

Wow Cornell....another day gone....I'm starting to get the feeling that they don't really care about giving me an answer...

Would you guys even go if they let you in? Couldn't help but notice that lots of people seem to be getting in and then not attending.

With any financial aid, absolutely. Without, likely.

Do people on reserve/wait list actually get financial aid?

I think Cornell is one of the few schools that actually does some need based stuff, so maybe. Or I could be way off. I know it's unusual for people to get money off reserve/waitlist for merit, but I know a few people at slightly lower and slightly higher ranked schools who have gotten money off the waitlist.

When I got the call she implied that I'd probably get some aid, though nothing too substantial. IF I hadn't already signed a lease in Chi I probably would have pursued it.

They told me the scholarship fund is currently dry, but some people with aid might withdraw, so I'll apply regardless

FYI, I got some $, and my numbers are mediocre. Mine and my family's income is basically $0 though...

I also talked to them and they full out said it: "we're out of money, sorry." Though it could be that they are 'out of money' just for me and my numbers, so maybe they still have some money squirreled away, who knows...

Do they ask for parents income? I have one living parent but he divorced my mother and wasn't a huge part of my life. He has a low income but he owns land that would make him seem wealthy.
I hadn't expected any $ if I got in, just wonderin..

How old are you ? Are you listed as a dependent on your father's tax return ?

Both your age & your lack of being a dependent indicate that your father's assests shouldn't be considered when applying for financial aid at Cornell. This also assumes that your father is not carrying you on his health insurance or paying to support you (such as signing a lease & paying your rent).

Not exactly guys. I've been independent for 5 years, but Cornell still needed all parent info, including both parents' tax return forms. You will have to fill out a Need Access if you want need-based aid, which accounts for parents' earning and assets. It's a ball.

Same here. I'm pretty set on attending even if it's at sticker, but I really want to avoid getting loans if that's possible.. Come on Cornell! show me the moneyyy

Just got in off the reserve list...I don't think there is any money. I just received an acceptance email and pdf. If I paid sticker at cornell, is it worth it?

There are a bazillion threads going right now of whether Cornell at sticker is worth it. Do a little search in the forums and you'll see that all of the various issues have been addressed
