I would greatly appreciate a JR1 tomorrow. I have been waiting but a mere five and half months.

+1 to this. Harvard is the last school I have to hear from, and I want this cycle to be over one way or another. I want my life backKronk wrote:I would greatly appreciate a JR1 tomorrow. I have been waiting but a mere five and half months.

I just kind of want to get my first ding outta the way. Harvard would be an ideal candidate. I don't know why they wait so long to do it.Kronk wrote:I would greatly appreciate a JR1 tomorrow. I have been waiting but a mere five and half months.

Writing the main points of my LOCI right now, should I include that at the midway point of the semester my lowest grade of six three hour classes is a 99? Not sure if it is worth mentioning, but it would appear I will have another 4.0 semester. Would it even matter?

Re: Harvard 2010!
that's a weird way of putting it, but I can't imagine it would hurt to say, "based on current grades and midterms, I anticipate earning a 4.0 this semester, bringing my GPA up to X" if you are on the low side for their GPA.Kakarot wrote:Writing the main points of my LOCI right now, should I include that at the midway point of the semester my lowest grade of six three hour classes is a 99? I was just putting it on a bullet list right now, not yet in form for the letter. Thanks for the advice, I will put it in my letter later on.puppleberry finn wrote:that's a weird way of putting it, but I can't imagine it would hurt to say, "based on current grades and midterms, I anticipate earning a 4.0 this semester, bringing my GPA up to X" if you are on the low side for their GPA.Kakarot wrote:Writing the main points of my LOCI right now, should I include that at the midway point of the semester my lowest grade of six three hour classes is a 99? Hopefully so. I'm sure I'm with you all on this - it is becoming such a pain to keep waiting for any news from HLS. I am contemplating even sending another letter of interest in because I figure I can update them - mainly because its been so long since my first!JohnnyTrojan08 wrote:Still no JR2, so we can continue being sad for ourselves.![]()
HOWEVER, if you look back at last year's cycle, there was a large gap in acceptances between February 11 and March 3, and again between March 6 and 19. Then a whole slew of rejections (and a few acceptances) throughout the end of March.
So, assuming that the best course of action for a new guy like JR is to follow his predecessors, maybe the machine gun fun will begin in 3 weeks.
Maybe this is a trick which the adcomm mercifully uses to make any rejections feel better: "well at least this damn wait is finally over! I'm happy!"

Seeing your cycle mentioned, I find it funny HLS is the last you are hearing from.BioEBear2010 wrote:+1 to this. I'd expect anyone who gets into YLS and SLS to be admitted to HLS first!

His numbers are below HLS's GPA median and roughly at the LSAT median, not to mention this cycle's weirdness.
What is surprising is (as far as I can tell) he hasn't gotten a JR1... *adds another person to the hope chain*

Re: Harvard 2010!
I'm also impatiently awaiting my (hopefully) upcoming JR1...I got held and then retook in Feb., and got a score that was either Yale or Harvard's 75th (
), so I'm thinking I should be good for a JR1...but it is late in the cycle...does the fact that it's March significantly hurt my chances?
P.S. My gpa is a high 3.8X

Yes, I know that I've been blessed this cycle. I also know that my cycle is essentially over. I just want closure from Harvard, a school that I applied to in mid September. I'm pretty sure I'm headed for the WL, but I'd like to know what's happening.forza wrote:Yeah, the wait for Harvard must be killing you given that [strike]you haven't gotten into either Ya[/strike]... wait, you've gotten into Yale & Stanford.BioEBear2010 wrote:+1 to this. I think we should all start a thread called: "Closure for TLS' finest: a quest for perfection"
You can mod the thread
