I can't recall anyone being waitlisted. Is this perhaps the equivalent of a WL this cycle?

It seems to be the precursor to a WL.. Maybe it just gives you one last chance to avoid the WL by submitting something great.

I don't think so. The Friday blog post said some holds will be moved to WL after that 6-8 weeks. So my guess is this is the "we can't WL you...yet..."

But seriously, I think people who have been held or are waiting on Harvard are in much better shape than those held at other schools - Harvard has a new dean and he's probably running things quite conservatively. . .

yeah i agree and we should not look at the girl who got a jr1 last week as any indication they are moving on the "hold batch", she was a numbers juggernaunt (177/3.9) who i believe was mistakenly held from the start

Still no JR2, so we can continue being sad for ourselves.

HOWEVER, if you look back at last year's cycle, there was a large gap in acceptances between February 11 and March 3, and again between March 6 and 19. Then a whole slew of rejections (and a few acceptances) throughout the end of March.

So, assuming that the best course of action for a new guy like JR is to follow his predecessors, maybe the machine gun fun will begin in 3 weeks.

Hopefully after the gap or two weeks of silence that we see, we get a lot of apply notifications not machine gun fire of other notifications.
