Congrats to all who got in. I can say with pretty much complete confidence that you will have a great experience should you decide to attend NYU. The area is great, job prospects are excellent, the alumni network is endlessly helpful, etc. In less than a week, I'll be a member of that alumni network (bittersweet moment right there), and I look forward to helping out and going to bat for NYU students that reach out to me in the future. Take advantage of that alumni network, since there are so many who would be happy to pay forward all the help that they themselves got at one point.

I missed a call from NYU admissions today and they left a voice mail about wanting to discuss my waitlist status... Has anyone else gotten a call?

Has anyone noticed a trend so far in NYU's picks off the waitlist? Are they going for LSAT, GPA, Gender, Regionality, etc?

It seems that although GPA's of admits have varied, LSAT's have been just under or at the median for the most part -- 170's and 171's.

Ok guys, after a bit of debating it over, I've decided to withdraw. I would have liked to make NYU work, but I love Penn, and the $$ difference was just too much for me to stomach. A dean's scholarship ($25k/$25k/$12.5k ($25k if you don't work at a firm 2L summer)) will be going back in the pot, so wait until the last second to withdraw if you are appealing aid, maybe one of you will get it, I know a lot of people here would be very content with it.

Best of luck to you guys/gals! In 3 years, a lot of us will be working in the same places (I can't stay away from NYC too long ).

Was your scholly need-based, merit, or a mixture of both?

It doesn't say anywhere in the award letter. It also doesn't say on their website (http://www.law.nyu.edu/financialaid/sch ... /index.htm), but, because you need to fill out need access to be eligible, I think it can certainly be partly or entirely need based. My guess is, these scholarships can be need, merit, or a combination. In my case (being below both medians) I suspect it was mostly (if not all) need based.

Much closer to 900. I believe my NYU WL threads google doc had ~90 people from TLS. Past data has suggested TLS is about 1/7 or 1/8 representative of the entire pool.

7x90 = 630
8x90 = 720

So about that I'd say.

As for how many accepted ? I'd guess ~ 300 total. That mean 30 tls'rs ?

However, a bunch have already said NO to the acceptance off the WL so maybe this year it will be more. It's hard to fill a big class size in a down cycle.
