I believe that Harvard is accepting withdrawals by email. At least one poster on here did so successfully.thecynic69 wrote:I don't see it eitherunc0mm0n1 wrote:didn't see it. sorry I saw the deferred enrollment form but not the deposit/withdrawal form.thecynic69 wrote:Trying to withdraw from Harvard, but I lost the deposit form =X. Oh, I had heard just the opposite. Alright, I'll give it a try. I just don't want to handle this rudely/imply I didn't seriously consider H's offer of admission (when cleaning my room, I think I accidentally recycled the important papers, and kept the recycle pile--I have a feeling this is going to cause me additional problems down the lineKnock wrote:I believe that Harvard is accepting withdrawals by email. Yeah, i'm not exactly sure, since I thought they wanted withdrawals by snail mail, but since one poster did it successfully might as well try itthecynic69 wrote:Oh, I had heard just the opposite. Yea, which is a different scenario than cynic's, since they specifically told WLs to email to confirm they want to remain on the WL.NikaneOkie wrote:Pretty sure it was a WL--> WDCastleRock wrote:Was this a person who was waitlisted though?Knock wrote:

I just don't understand why there isn't an electronic version of the deposit form...they are just asking for this to happen.

In a couple of days it won't matter anyway right?

Just email. What difference does it make to those of you who have better places to be?

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
I just don't want to piss off Harvard. In general, pissing off entities with the endowment of a small country's GDP can't be a good idea. But I could see myself applying for a job there at some point, and I don't think being the kid who was too (insert bad adjective here) to send in a withdrawal form would help my case.

So, theoretically, they could begin to move on the WL today since the deadline passed...

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Probably not today since they have to go through all the paperwork and tally up the totals. I assume most who needs to withdraw from the WL have already done so, they have a bit of time to review the files left and make some inroads toward a move or 20. I say this Friday for next week.tipler4213 wrote:So, theoretically, they could begin to move on the WL today since the deadline passed...
I am curious, are there still people pending (without a decision)?

Last year, the first email invitation for WL--> admit interview was May 6th. I think we could hear as early as friday.r6_philly wrote:Probably not today since they have to go through all the paperwork and tally up the totals. Additionally, I wanted to note that, as far as TLS was concerned, every person asked to interview was admitted, although a couple people had to wait a few days to hear back (but most heard at the end of their phone call).
Furthermore, the first calls were to URMs, specifically AA URMs with high GPAs and lower LSATs. The majority of the admitted students were AA URMs, but that could very well have to do with a failure to successfully recruit AA URMs last year- it could be very different this year.

I thought you were set on Stanford? Would you take Harvard over Stanford?

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
It's kinda like saying "Remember how I said I was interested like 6 months ago, and again like 2 weeks ago? Well I'm still interested now too. Just thought u might wanna know. Can you let me know when u get this by the way?"law777 wrote:I sent an LOCI after being held. Would sending another after receiving notification of the waitlist be overkill?
At least that's how I see it. But what do I know?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
