I was at "applied" as of 12/8 until yesterday or today. now it says "as of 12/08/2009 your application status is: complete". finally!

Did you get a email? the web said they would email. I can't beleive they're still stuck on first week of dec. Good luck to you though!

When I went complete, I didn't get an email until about 6am the next day.

I received the complete email at exactly 0600 this morning.

FWIW, I was 'applied as of 11/17/2009' until 1/27/2010, when I became complete. I am also an auto-ding. They are drowning in applications.

What kind of results do you guys have to get in? I am going to apply with HIGH hopes for Cornell. I have a 170 LSAT, 3.1 Undegrad GPA and 4.0 Grad GPA.....23 years old....LOTS OF WORK EXPERIENCE IN RETAIL (7 years) !! I was in leadership positions.....Had bad undegrad GPA due to my father having severe heart issues and had to support family....all will be in personal statement...any ideas and suggestions? with a 170, 3.1, and work experience you have a better chance of getting into georgetown, northwestern, or michigan than you have of getting into cornell.

Or, with a 170, it might be worth an ED at UVA.

FYI, if you're curious...

If you want a good shot at Cornell (non-URM), you're going to need at the minimum of a 167 LSAT and a 3.1 GPA. To figure out if you're an "auto-admit" (or as close as you can get at Cornell, I suppose), calculate this:

212.1 - 1.1 * GPA * ( 14.63 - GPA)

(GPA = LSDAS undergrad GPA)

And round up -- that's your target LSAT.

In your case, with a 3.1, you'd be looking for a 173 or higher.

From the LSN graphs from the last 3 years or so, if your LSAT is more than or equal to that target, you've got a 95%ish chance of admission...if your LSAT is less than that target, you're probably looking at a waitlist/reject.

Where did you get that formula from? It puts my GPA right at a 168, which is what I have...hopefully it proves correct.

Just looking at the LSN graphs from the past few years, and fitting an equation where above = almost always accepted and below = rarely to sometimes accepted. By no means the divine prophecy regarding Cornell admissions

Interesting. With some rudimentary calculus I see that someone with a 2.38 GPA would need a 180 LSAT. Of course, in the real world they'd throw out the index formula and reject anyway, barring some other x-factor.

I really want to go to cornell, but I'm worried that I wont get a response in time to be respectful of other school's deposit deadlines. Just went complete late last week.

Is this a realistic possibility?

Not to needlessly bicker about something as trivial as this formula (since it's meant to be a rough guide, by no means authoritative), but I included "you're going to need at the minimum of a 167 LSAT and a 3.1 GPA" in it to account for situations like that. So someone with a 2.38 would likely, yes, be outright rejected!

A friend linked me to this thread to see this formula.

I just applied to Cornell 01/31, with a 171 and a 3.29. I saw this formula and thought "I wonder..." Popped in 3.29, and out came 171. That's funny and a bit encouraging.

Now to wait the long journey from "Received" to "Decision Reached" to (hopefully) "Admitted"

Same about a week later on both dates .... Cornell is taking FOREVER this cycle, if they had even looked at my application I would have been rejected by now.

Accepted via e-mail!!! I just got the letter a few minutes ago; they "couldn't wait" to share the news, which I really appreciate given how long it all took. Now I'm waiting for my package of goodies!

Just got an email of acceptance from Cornell!!!! I'm freaking out! This school was by far a reach for me and I can't believe I was admitted!
