So, needing some advice here. I applied to a master's program at Harvard as well, but didn't specify this on the application due to the fact that it wasn't listed.

Just found out Friday I was accepted. My app via the status checker says my application is under review. Should I contact admissions and notify them that I have been accepted into the master's program? Would it matter?

Going to have my JS1 interview tomorrow, a little bit nervous...

Wonder if the interviewer is going to be one of Danielle Early, Lauren Gold, and Anne Taylor; or Karen Buttenbaum, Jessica Soban, and Joshua Mauro will also be the possible interviewer.

Thanks.

Things have quieted down here and on LSN much like they did yesterday.

Suggestion and total spit-ball theory: JS primes the pump by calling 15-20% (3/11 on LSN came before a significant break (muji posted here 2-3 hours before LSN)) of a day's admits early in the morning before taking 3-4 hours off. This way some buzz gets generated and a much higher proportion of the remaining 80-85% of the day's applicants answer their phones and get that fuzzy feeling that totally boosts yield (I have no idea why they do this whole calling thing).

I've joined the rash of manic rationalizers... Call me before I make myself too dumb to be worth admitting, JS.

Don't think Karen B still works in the Harvard admissions office

Thanks. I see. That means the interviewer can only be one of Danielle Early, Lauren Gold, Anne Taylor, Jessica Soban, and Joshua Mauro. Is that correct (or I missed some new people)?

By my calculation , Harvard is currently at the following quartiles for admitted class ( based on LSN data):
GPA :
25 = 3.8
50 = 3.9
75 = 3.955

LSAT:
25 = 172
50 = 174
75 = 176

Which are all significantly higher than last years admitted students profile so this might imply that Harvard will be considering more marginal candidates in the coming months (maybe some consultation to those who are sitting on js1s or in limbo like myself)

You definitely missed some because my interviewer isn't on there. In addition there's no way to know in advance who your interviewer will be - they use a generic skype account too.

Edit: See this list from the school itself - though it's missing Joshua

I'd let them know. It probably won't give you a boost (the law school is stingy like that), but it will show commitment to coming to HLS if admitted. It's certainly something they'll want to know.

Got it. Thanks a lot. Do you think it is appropriate to call Harvard to find out who is going to be my interviewer or they will not tell me?

This couldn't matter less. Don't call them and expose yourself as a hyper-gunner.

Lol. Of course they won't tell you. Just go on the Harvard admissions blog to find out more about the admissions process/interviewers and read back a couple of pages - somebody provided a good list of some of the questions they might ask.

I observed yesterday that those admitted were predominately above at least one 75th. I think HLS is admitting its more "sure" applicants first before getting to the slew of applicants that must be sitting at the 3.8-3.9 and 172-173 range.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
