The employment is improving definitely at WashU. After the numbers came out I had to hear UT's before depositing. If WUSTL's were better I'd be there. But ultimately I think it is because although they place great into their region (and even quite well to NY/CA) they aren't in any major legal market and the nearby ones are pretty dominated. Chicago has UIUC, UChi, NU and WUSTL for primary sources (as well as ND, IUB). To the south, there's Texas and OK which are dominated by TX peeps. To the west comes CO which CU has a hold on, then Cali markets. Ultimately, not being in a major market I think can be a bit of a hindrance, but the employment is still pretty good and the impression I got from ASW was that people weren't struggling in their job search at all.
