Ah by email, ok. I would send them a negotiation email with any other offers you may have, same as you would in any other situation when you want to ask for more money.

You have to send them an email first, then they'll activate the My Appeal tab in your faaps for you to upload your documents there.Just wrote:I mean people seemd to have appealed in the faaps system. need to dig up some thread.

I feel like they hit their numbers/yield target, and this wave was all about accepting people below one or both medians that they think were likely to pay sticker, because they need the extra tuition $$.

That's sort of the WL game isn't it. They WL people who they can "make" pay sticker. Most schools that WL don't really offer much aid at all. It sucks it's happening to you guys, since, in the past NYU has given schollys of the WL, but it's sort of expected.JamesDean1955 wrote:I feel like they hit their numbers/yield target, and this wave was all about accepting people below one or both medians that they think were likely to pay sticker, because they need the extra tuition $$.

I'm traveling today and can't open flash on my phone, so I still don't know, but given everyone else, I'm sure it's a 0 for me too. Did ANYONE in our admit wave get a dime?

I've been given $ to $$$ for all WLs I've been pulled off of, NYU is the first 0 this cycle for me. Of course the closest ranked school I got was Duke, so might be related to that as well.

do you think the offer might be completely need-based? Really can't think of a good reason to argue if they think we don't qualify for need-based aid. I also read before that NYU distinguish one's family's inability to pay and unwillingness to pay.txdude45 wrote:Just got my award from NYU: $37.5K

I sure hope they are need based...that's what I'm counting on. I certainly haven't earned the merit scholarships at NYU.

I'd take sticker at CLS over NYU $12.5k a year. Assuming you are dead set on biglaw, good call. $15k a year is pushing it, but would probably be the max difference I'd accept.

Asking this everywhere except the Chicago thread because those guys are meeeeaaaan, so please excuse the repetition...
If you're accepted off a wait list do they make you sign something saying you will withdraw from other wait lists? Or does that fall under the can't-make-you-withdraw-from-waitlists rule?

Well it's official then those Chicago guys are dicks

No they can't make you withdraw from other waitlists, but they can make you withdraw from anywhere you've been accepted to and make you agree not to initiate any new applications (which shouldn't be a problem unless you were thinking of shooting a last app to NYLS

I got my initial fin aid, but haven't heard back after asking for reconsideration. Didn't get my pizza box yet either, also in NYC.JamesDean1955 wrote:Who else is still waiting to hear about financial aid? And anyone not receive their pizza box yet? Jacq was it any larger than what we've seen so far ($37.5k)? You don't have to post specific numbers I was just curious if they are getting higher lol.
