Just had my JS1, thought I'd share. She only asked a couple of questions, she ties them to your resume/personal statement, but basically why law school and where do you see yourself a couple years out from law school. Very very quick. Call was 8 minutes and I think half of that was her answering my questions. Maybe it was 5 min by the time she asked if I had any questions, not sure how to take that...
Anyway, best of luck to everyone!

At this point, I'd say that deserves a 'congrats'. Do you mind sharing stats?JF215 wrote:Just held. URM. Went UR in early Jan.

I was held this past Friday (mid-December application, early January UR, URM)... Not sure if it is worth "congrats", as Harvard is an extreme reach. Stats are in profile if you are wondering.QueMellow wrote:At this point, I'd say that deserves a 'congrats'. Do you mind sharing stats?JF215 wrote:Just held. URM. Went UR in early Jan.

Thanks! Sounds like a lot of the interviews are pretty short. Good luck!Vaclac wrote:Just had my JS1, thought I'd share. Mine was really long.... 19 minutes.
Initially thought that was a good sign, but maybe it explains why I am currently JS1 -> ???.

Did any non-URM Americans get held in March (i.e. last Friday and today)?

Uh oh...if we're facing a wave of rejections that means the JS1s are done for now...

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
Realistically, the folks without JS2s (myself included) that were in the large batch of JS1s that got JS2s yesterday are probably out of luck. There is a small glimmer of hope though...
Consider this: Byzantine had his JS1 interview on 2/21 and got his JS2 on 3/3. Two people that had their JS1 EMAILS on 2/21 got JS2s on 2/24. Two people that had their JS1 EMAILS on 2/24 got JS2s on 2/29.
In other words, for at least one person in this thread, a JS2 came after other JS2s had been passed out for applicants that interviewed on later days.
Like I said - most people that are currently JS1 -> ??? from my batch are probably out of luck. But there is at least a chance.

If you go even further back, there were a bunch of people who went through 1, 2, or even 3 rounds of missed JS2s before getting their own. Nothing to worry about yet.Syme wrote:Realistically, the folks without JS2s (myself included) that were in the large batch of JS1s that got JS2s yesterday are probably out of luck. I refuse to believe that we will see neither JS1s nor JS2s today.

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
There are good reasons why Harvard might reject me - I'm an unusual applicant (even as an international), and I have some distinct flaws. I think Josephus is as close as we'll get to an international auto-admit (a "superior" from Oxbridge, a 176, great softs). Until Josephus gets accepted, I think we can assume they're not done with internationals. If I recall correctly, he applied in January and hasn't yet reported a JS1 here, so perhaps there'll be another round of international JS1s soon, before they make decisions (more speculationpoultry wrote:Because strong applicant like Antipodean is still held after a JS1....I guess they are going to make decisions on internationals collectively. After they interviewed all potentially strong international applicants, they might be able to issue JS2s...
