No, I'm lying to everyone in TT. I needed a confidence boost so I made up an email and sent it to myself.

Yes, I got that email with a 167/3.8. Maybe I should send an email back saying "I dont think my numbers are high enough to receive merit aid".

I don't think he was trying to be condescending, as I wondered the same thing. I think being Cuban, though not a traditionally recognized URM and possibly not always receiving the same bump, probably help get you considered for merit aid.

uh, or he might have other strong softs, lol. guys he was asking about what he should do to get max $$ - not trying to figure out why he got singled out for possible merit aid, lol.

Just got an email from GULC saying I was in "a small group of admitted students being considered for merit aid" they just want to know if I'm interested in attending. They said if I wanted I could include other schools I've been accepted to and any offers I have on the table. Should I include my big admits like Michigan and Berkeley although neither has offered me $?

Yeah I wasn't being condescending, I was just kind of shocked. 167 is GULC's 25th%ile. I know plenty of people with 17X LSAT scores that don't get anything. I was just looking for the x factor. Congrats, regardless.

Yeahh, this is killing me. Our #s our similar (I'm -.1 GPA, +1 LSAT) and I was definitely hoping to get an interview. I'm now convinced that no interview request means I'm an auto-reject. Oh well.

I don't think that's true, that being ur an AR. the fact that you have a better lsat than me sort of indicates that you'd probably have a better shot than me at the school, so you're not so much the borderline candidate, don't read into the interview request, I don't think it'll add anything, and at best I'm just wasting my time haha

I just got a call from a 202-xxx-xxxx number and I thought it might be the dean of admissions at Georgetown calling me to tell me I'm in!

Instead, it was the vet telling me that the lab tests suggest my cat may have urinary tract infection.

Asked to do a group video interview next week in LA....I don't know that I can make it. Is this something I need to make time for? He said it would not disadvantage my application, but I'm not sure thats true.

I had to turn a group interview down due to my job, but they came back at me within the next week about interviewing with an alumni in the area, which I am in the process of setting up. I assume if the "want to learn more information" about me, it means I'm borderline and need the interview to push me in the door. It's certainly a chance to make an impression so it's probably worth making time for if you really want to get in.

Has anyone done one of these alumni interviews? Any details, tips, etc?

I did a one-on-one with an alum. Most of the questions were of "why law school" and "why GULC" variety, almost none of them dealt with anything on my resume. I got the impression it's more to flesh out your interpersonal skills and why you're interested in Georgetown than a review of your work/academic experience.

As far as dress, I went to mine right after work so I wore a suit, but I've heard of some that are more casual. Of course, since it might differ person to person, I'd err on the side of being overdressed.

how long after you your interviewer sent in a response did you get a decision?

I was just able to generate a username and password for the ASW! I think I just got accepted:)

But my combination doesn't work to actually access it either. Hmm....

Same here; anyone have a definitive answer on what generating an ASW username/password that doesn't work on the ASW means?

I'm pretty sure it means you're in. It doesn't start to work on the ASW for a day or two, IIRC.

I think it's anywhere from 3-5. For what it's worth, I just got my 3rd update (12/6 -> 2/1 ->2/8) and haven't heard anything...no email and no ASW. I had some issues with my interviewer sending her info in, but I think more than 3 updates happens pretty regularly.

I had 7-9 updates (I honestly stopped keeping track after about the 6th update) before I was able to get into the ASW. I've also read that for some people they cannot get in until the following Monday after 5 EST.

It's after 5 EST for the pw generation too right?

Sorry, that's what I meant. After 5 on the following Monday to generate the password. Actually using that password to get into the ASW seems to happen to a lot of people on Friday and that doesn't have to be after 5. For me, I was able to use the password and username they e-mailed me starting early Friday morning.

The password generator for GULC gave me a fail message today (completed 2/3), but if you change that "2" at the end of the url to "1" it gives me better (but false) news!
