Re: Loyola LA - Has anyone heard back?
Is anyone here an applicant from the East Coast thinking of making the coastal switch? The longer this wait is, the more nervous I am about the idea.
Just checked, still no status change for me, but then again I am on eastern standard time and doubt they update the system at 7am? lol

I'm also in this DR 3/15 batch, 162, 3.5, thought I'd have gotten a decision months ago, too..I keep wondering why I am such a question mark to them, was it my essay? well I'll find out in a couple days..:c

What part of the East Coast are you from? I'm from So Cal but I kinda want to head East....Grass is always greener right?revrocksteady wrote:Is anyone here an applicant from the East Coast thinking of making the coastal switch? The longer this wait is, the more nervous I am about the idea.

I hope this isn't a batch of waitlists.....besides myself they all sound like pretty solid numbers for Loyola....but maybe applying pt helped? I hope so. Poor mailman will be stalked by me today. I wish you could just pick up the decision from admissions.....

Where in the East are you from? I'm from DC and always lived in DC or Boston.mango26 wrote:i am definitely thinking about it, but i'd rather make the switch to san diego than la, but usd still hasn't gotten back to me. i got $ from loyola though. i'm just not sure if i want to deal with the la traffic and stuff.revrocksteady wrote:Is anyone here an applicant from the East Coast thinking of making the coastal switch? San Diego looks absolutely gorgeous from what I've seen in pictures, but never been there myself. A good friend lives down there and loves it though. I liked the LA market idea much better for myself. Withdrew from Pepperdine after getting wait listed there. They weren't the best culture fit for me anyways (even though that location was to die for).
Loyola is my last chance for a coastal jump. Being such a late applicant, I doubt they will give me any $$ and unfortunately that is the only way I can justify the move.
Good Luck to everyone with decisions in the mail! Back to waiting for me...

I'm from NJ, so it would be a pretty big switch for me, too. Not sure if I'm ready for it or not, but that doesn't really matter unless I'm accepted.

I'm from NYC and after going to undergrad in upstate NY the past 4 years I'll gladly move to LA or SD considering I'm waiting to hear from both.

Waitlisted. The waitlist form asked if I would be interested in considering the evening program as my first choice.....weird because I applied evening/day with evening being my first choice already. O well. I'll take a waitlist over a rejection!

I have a fairly dumb question.....how do you officially withdraw your acceptance? I've looked on the website and don't see a form or anything. Quite frankly, someone else should be offered my spot and I feel a pang of guilt every time they email me that I still havent' done it... thoughts?

it doesn't need to be formal or official, you can just call or email them.Shellbelle wrote:I have a fairly dumb question.....how do you officially withdraw your acceptance? Re: Loyola LA - Has anyone heard back?
Just emailed them to give away my seat. Hope this helps, you guys!
And yeah, I emailed the admissions@lls.edu address and simply told them I'd be attending a different law school. They haven't replied yet, but I think what I wrote is sufficient. I also gave them my LSAC number, just to be nice

Re: Loyola LA - Has anyone heard back?
I found out today. I went complete back in early January. Now I'm in a quandary, because I'm waiting to hear how much $$$ Southwestern will offer. If they offer me anything around $20K/year, it will make my decision VERY tough.Foosters Galore wrote:Congrats! How did you find out and when did you go complete?chango wrote:holy crap.

Would you call it a spoiler that I just got the invitation for the admitted students' preview day? (haven't actually received the decision yet it's probably at home in the mail since I'm 17 miles from the school)
