Nope as of right now its only half-tuition. Wake is $18k a year and Bama would be about $4k BUT I probably want to go back to NC so it muddles things a bit.hombredulce wrote:tarheel87 wrote:I got an unexpected email today raising my scholarship to $22,500 a year, right after I'd kinda decided on Wake Forest. Back to square one. Alabama vs. Wake Forest for my law school tuition dollars. I'm as torn as I could possibly be.
I'm guessing you're from NC. Is the Wake scholly a full ride?

Yes that does complicate the situation. Why not leverage the bama offer to get more from Wake?tarheel87 wrote:Nope as of right now its only half-tuition. Dear Wake,
I really really like you but economically it will be difficult to LOVE you. Bama has offered me.....
You get the idea. This is a common tactic that has been proven effective.

Yeah , do what that guy suggested. Another thing I'd do if I were you is contact bama grads in NC firms to ask what their experience has been like, and to put yourself on their radar screen.rcharles wrote:Yes that does complicate the situation. Just so you know, this is not terribly effective for Wake. It might help you a little, but they are unwilling to drop class-rank requirements and aren't very open to "matching."rcharles wrote:

Everybody who visits Bama seems to positively glow about their experience. I hope I hear from them soon (applied 2/10 & went complete & ready for review on 2/22). Has anybody else who applied at a similar time heard back from them yet?

I applied 2/1 and got in 2/26, but it seems like I'm the exception and not the rule.atfarmer wrote:Everybody who visits Bama seems to positively glow about their experience. Tarheel- I completely agree about asking for references. Just ask Claude et al to put you in touch with someone in the markets you're interested. I'm sure they'll be able to help you pretty quickly. Alabama's an amazing place, so I would strongly encourage you taking the time to evaluate it as thoroughly as you can.

What LSAT score and GPA do all of you who have been accepted have?
I'm pending with a 163 and 3.5 GPA.

Anybody else kind of puzzled why such a good school seems to have so little chat going on about it compared to all the other threads?

So, unless I magically turn into a black woman in the next 3-4 weeks, no.

Yea, they're not afraid to let you know that they want you. Not paying for books = sweet. Congrats!
Let me know how that process works out for you. You could defer and rework you PS to talk about it

Lol, hey I personally know someone that got accepted in under a week and they happened to be a white male.
But they had a 4.1 and a 168 and went to UA too. I think they just process their own students faster for whatever reason.

Well I'm not a UA undergrad but I am in-state so hopefully that will help me. Bama is a top choice for me so I'm really hoping to get some good news soon!hellokitty wrote:Lol, hey I personally know someone that got accepted in under a week and they happened to be a white male.
