Does YLS have a status checker?
Recieved this on 12/19: "We have received notification from LSAC that you have submitted an application to Yale Law School. We should receive your application from LSAC within one week and we will begin processing it at that time.[...]."
Thanks!

They don't have a status checker. Although they will email you when your file goes completevotebuilder1 wrote:Does YLS have a status checker?

I strongly doubt there's any connection between numbers and time it takes to go complete.letmeinplease47 wrote:Do we know if time to complete varies with numerical strength? Obviously before you are complete they probably can't see your essays or anything, but it's possible LSAC sends them the numerical information such that they can pull down and start reviewing "more competitive" applicants first. I, of course, have no clue how the process works, but I've been wondering if something like that could explain the differences in how long it takes certain people to go complete.xnsch wrote:They don't have a status checker. I doubt it too, but it is possible. Remember that two things have to happen before you get that Complete email. They receive the file from LSAC, probably a largely automated process like a weekly batch of files all downloaded together, and then they have to review that all the components are there. I suspect that this second part is largely manual. LSAC can do things like check that at least two LORs are included or that a document has been uploaded for the 250 word essay, but some of the requirements depend on content entered elsewhere, like how the post-college activities question is required for non K-JDs.Kaziende wrote:I strongly doubt there's any connection between numbers and time it takes to go complete.letmeinplease47 wrote:Do we know if time to complete varies with numerical strength? I also wouldn't be surprised if the files pulled from LSAC have some sort of cover sheet or summary that lists basic stats. The admissions office could have a queue of files it's pulled from LSAC that all need a human to validate the components before they're fully complete, and they could choose to prioritize files with good numbers for that manual processing.

Re: Yale c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Yale is doing an incredible job of convincing me to bite the bullet and apply. First, they sent me that diversity email last week, which I ignored since I'm not really diverse. But now, I got a personal email from a 3L introducing herself and offering to answer any questions that I may have.
I know fee waivers have no discernable correlation to acceptance, but would something like this carry more weight? Honestly, the point may be moot since they'll realize that my diversity is mostly non-existent.

Pretty much the same thing for me. The only reason I'm considering it is because I'm waiting on responses from so many schools still.Monday wrote:Let's do it: I'm also not that diverse but what the hell. They apparently also sent a "packet"? We'll see how this 250 plays out. I might just get tired and lazy and not apply if I hear back from more schools, though.ReadyToStart wrote:Yale is doing an incredible job of convincing me to bite the bullet and apply. Re: Yale c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Assuming you applied in January, the best we can guess is from the MyLSN data. Of the 57 applicants who applied in Jan (2014-2016), 5 heard back in February, 4 accepted, 1 denied.letmeinplease47 wrote:If I went complete on 2/3, any chance I hear back in February?

Does Yale reject everyone later? Do they have less waves? There are like no data points on LSN...
