Re: Michigan c/o 2020 applicants (2016-17)
Just got the packet in the mail about a week and a half after the fee waiver email. I was born and raised in Michigan, but now live in Texas. I would love to go back, but my LSAT is too low (low 160s) and my URM boost (MA) will not help. A few more points and I would be a bit more optimistic.
The hand signed letter and note make me want to apply, but I don't want to throw away $30.

You never know! If you really want to go to Mich, try writing a Why Mich letter, putting together a strong app, all that is free. I do not think you would be throwing away $30, I think you might kick yourself in the head down the road if you dont at least try. Granted, I do not know how much the $30 will be missed or you need it, so please do not take my comments to be insensitive of the situation. I just know I would kick myself in the head if I didnt at least try.

If it helps you feel better, I threw away $130 or something on Stanfords application. $30 is a cheap price for a shot at the dream hahaTorres1893 wrote:Just got the packet in the mail about a week and a half after the fee waiver email. Nice! One of the additional essays can be your diversity statement!Torres1893 wrote:I guess you guys are right. Re: Michigan c/o 2020 applicants (2016-17)
I was thinking of writing a why Mich essay and the essay explaining why my LSAT score does represent me or whatever. I'm going to try to include diversity in the why Mich app. It would be easier if I could submit three essays or at least make the why Mich essay 2 pages instead of 1Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:Nice! Just a word of advice though, if you had to pick 2 out of those 3, I would definitely choose Why Mich and Diversity Statement (if you Personal Statement isn't already about that). Unless you have an extremely valid excuse for a lower LSAT score, I feel like it would be a waste of an essay when you can submit a better app through a Diversity Statement.

Goddamn grats on your LSAT. And on your admission. Regarding the packet, just more info on the school, how to reserve your spot, deposit fees, etc. No scholly info or anything like that.LikelyThrowaway wrote:Thanks (and to Gaga too)! 3.79/178, submitted around 10/21, not sure about completion date, sorry.NotAGolfer wrote:Congrats!!!
