Sooo does anyone know how good BU is with need based aid? I hear they are very generous. Do they take into account your parents info as well as my own?

No idea what the awards are. I finished my stuff well before the priority deadline and haven't heard anything yet. If you will be 24 or older by December 31st, 2016 you do not need you parents info. If you are 23 or younger, you will need to provide it or demonstrate that you are eligible to waive that information. Good thing for me I turn 24 the day before the deadlineEnviroNerd wrote:Sooo does anyone know how good BU is with need based aid? I hear they are very generous. Yea i sent mine in late January/early Feb. My parents combined income is pretty low and I have a brother in med school so they won't be able to help me with shit even though my EFC is 1,000 lol

I second this notion. It is pretty easy to go back to where you are from after graduation, and the CDO is really helpful if you wanna go back home or even if you wanna go somewhere else. However, if you don't want to be in Boston and do not already have ties where you want to work, BU may not be a great choice.rion91 wrote:If you have any reservations about Boston you can PM me. Almost no one at BU law is actually from Boston and BU is in its own metropolitan bubble. You get a real feel that BU Law is truly becoming a more national law school. We have great reach -- the school makes it a priority to get students to other states if they want like, CA, NY, TX, FL, etc. We also have reciprocity with other law schools. That is, if you are looking for jobs in another state, you can request access to that school's job listing on Symplicity.lurker816 wrote: Admittedly it's making me give BU a second thought, but I don't think I want to be in Boston. Nice jump for them, though!

Anyone know if BU gives out full scholarships outside of the PI scholarship and ED? I was rejected from the PI scholarship, and I have multiple t14 offers that would almost cover BUs full tuition if they matched them. Just trying to gauge how likely BU is to match/beat offers if they're essentially full tuition. I really want to stay in Boston =/
Thanks!

It depends on how much merit $ you got.EnviroNerd wrote:Sooo does anyone know how good BU is with need based aid? I hear they are very generous. Do they take into account your parents info as well as my own?

So if you get 15-20k you won't be expecting too much in need based if you demonstrate need?dasani13 wrote:It depends on how much merit $ you got.EnviroNerd wrote:Sooo does anyone know how good BU is with need based aid? So I just got an email from financial aid saying that I was awarded 60k (20k a year) from the alumni scholarship (aka need based aid). Is there still a chance of me getting a different email with merit based aid? I'm at their LSAT and GPA 75 percentiles, so I feel like it would be odd for me to get no merit aid.

I've got similar stats, and I'm still sitting here with no money at all! It's very strange.lawlaura3494 wrote:So I just got an email from financial aid saying that I was awarded 60k (20k a year) from the alumni scholarship (aka need based aid).
