WUSTL's first deposit amount is actually 500!Charlie_Bradbury wrote:Ahh I see. You should be able to put in the deposit at both though, if you wanted. When you go to pay at Emory (I haven't yet because I'm also still waiting) you can select multiple responses from the list, including one that says "Might attend Emory next fall but also have submitted deposit at another school". I know that's potentially $500 (I'm guessing WUSTL first deposit amount is $250 as well) you won't get back if you go to Vandy, but in my mind it's better to be safe than sorry!adil91 wrote: Yeah they offered me that but I would get reimbursed during the first semester. The school at which I'd be depositing(either WUSTL or Emory) would likely be a safety school for in case I don't get into Vanderbilt. So I don't want the WUSTL deposit deadline to pass and only have Emory(with an in-determinant)amount of aid as a safety school. I'd like to know how much they're giving me before I decide between Emory and WUSTL

This happened last year (I'm a 1L), and it doesn't mean anything. It's an automated thing. :/KGLaw18 wrote:I got this same financial aid e-mail after being wait listed yesterday...I'm thinking it might be a glitch? I can't imagine they would assign us a financial aid advisor if we have not been accepted. Perhaps they intended to send those of us new to their wait list confirmation that they received our FAFSA information but accidentally sent us the full financial aid e-mail. Did anyone else get this sent to them?Itstatertot wrote:Was waitlisted yesterday but received an email saying my financial aid application has been received and I'm assigned a financial aid advisor? Good luck!Itstatertot wrote:Was waitlisted yesterday but received an email saying my financial aid application has been received and I'm assigned a financial aid advisor? Going to be declining my offer of admission today, so that's 1 spot + $22k back into the pot.
Good luck to everyone still waiting on Emory!

I also just called the admissions office because I'm on the regular wait list and I tried to get a sense of how likely it would be to get in off the regular wait list, and she gave me the typical "It's hard to tell, but we will be continuing to admit students through December..." etc. etc.
To me, this spiel and the way she said it sounded like she was implying that people on priority have a good chance, whereas people on the regular wait list, not so much.... Obviously this is anecdotal, but my hope is dwindling.

I've heard of schools admitting people up to the second week of school, but December? That's crazy.

I just withdrew last night with a 105k scholarship. I'm sure there will be a lot of waitlist movement this month and the first week of May as people start making deposits. Good luck and I hope you get it!

Is anyone else still waiting for a decision? Just wondering if I missed something in the mail or if there were still people who hadn't heard anything.

Check your spam!!! I was on my email and saw that I had a few spam messages, so I went to delete them. Lo and behold, I had an Emory decision email among the usual spam crap!! It was a waitlist so I guess it belonged thereretirw wrote:Is anyone else still waiting for a decision? Edit: Now I'm not even sure if it is an official email or if it is in fact spam. I will be calling the admissions office tomorrow to get confirmation.

Was it the same person who said they accept people off the waitlist in December?naschkatze wrote:Update on priority versus regular wait list: the woman at admissions informed me the priority wait list applicants are selected before the regular wait list applicants. In addition, the list of priority applicants is smaller. When I asked whether they toggle between the two lists for acceptances etc., she said "we exhaust the priority wait list before considering regular wait list applicants." I am very confused because I have seen different answers ITT but this is what I was told from admissions. Blahhhhhh feeling very hopeless RN

I talked to admissions and they said they do pull students off the regular waitlist. So I don't think its slim, especially with the way this cycle and past cycles are going. Be wary of LSN. A lot of people don't update it, or they inflate their scholarship amounts, or may outright lie with some schools they are accepted or waitlisted at. Why? not sure. For example, I looked at one school I was waitlisted at(not Emory), and someone with the exact same credentials was accepted into the school with a 128k scholarship. individual is a caucasian male, nothing extraordinary about his background. Normal background like mine yet he gets a near fullride with the same stats as me. Thats why I am a little suspicious of LSN.
