Yep! Wash U was my number 1 choice, so I saw no downside. Interviewed with Will on 10/27!

They really make the LOR attachment process annoying. You can't even really see that you've attached it unless you go into the "assign" page. LSAC wtf.rebexness wrote:Did your app actually send? So I'm confused..when you apply ED and they give you only a partial scholarship, is it no longer binding at that point?

Should I be more patient?
Should I be worried?

My understanding is that all schools with a binding ED option it doesn't matter what they offer. They can offer between nothing and full. Some schools automatically give full, but I can't recall if WUSTL is one of them.

Yes, you should be more patient. You shouldn't read anything at all into that, it's not even a week yet. I know it's hard to not worry, but try. Good luck.alphagirljhan wrote:I had my interview last Thursday and still haven't heard back.

The confusion is because WUSTL's new ED comes with a full ride, but some people have been getting accepted with less than full rides.LawGirlAtx wrote:calawgrl wrote:So I'm confused..when you apply ED and they give you only a partial scholarship, is it no longer binding at that point?

Well no not exactly. A couple schools ED option comes with a guaranteed full ride or close to it (ex: Northwestern, WASHU). The question is if the school makes a counter offer to an ED applicant, are they still expecting the applicant to w/d his/her other apps if they accept the lesser offer. I would guess they are still negotiating under ED and expect the applicant to commit, but I'm not 100% for sure. Otherwise, why wouldn't they just roll you to RD and make you the offer?LawGirlAtx wrote:calawgrl wrote:So I'm confused..when you apply ED and they give you only a partial scholarship, is it no longer binding at that point?

Thanks! It's just that I'm seeing people who interviewed around similar dates as I did and already got their decisions back in law school numbersLET'S GET IT wrote:Yes, you should be more patient. I've been really irrational ever since I applied to law schools. The wait is more painful than working on application. ..

That's true. I would assume they're still negotiating under ED too. I think when applying to ED it's always wise to know that you can afford the school without full, otherwise you may have to forgo school for a year. My ED is *relatively* affordable without full, so I haven't looked into what other schools may offer other than the obvious full or near full like Northwestern.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2018 Applicants
I think the standard practice of most schools is to give little to no $ to people accepted ED since they are bound to come there or sit a cycle anyways. In the past, it has always been understood to be prepared to pay sticker if you ED someplace, but just in the last 2 or 3 cycles, Northwestern started the 150K ED thing, and a couple others have followed suit.LawGirlAtx wrote:LET'S GET IT wrote:Well no not exactly. Again, the point at issue here is that wustl's new ED comes with a full ride.

I think the question at issue is if they come back and offer you less than a full ride, is it still binding.scottidsntknow wrote:Again, the point at issue here is that wustl's new ED comes with a full ride.

If they promised a full ride with ED, and they admit you without a full ride, then I don't see how they could bind you. They didn't fulfill their end of the bargain.LET'S GET IT wrote:I think the question at issue is if they come back and offer you less than a full ride, is it still binding.scottidsntknow wrote:Again, the point at issue here is that wustl's new ED comes with a full ride.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2018 Applicants
One other person said that they came back and offered them X amount under the ED, and said that they could either take the money and still be bound, or roll over to RD admissions and wouldn't be promised the same offer when that scholly money comes out.hoos89 wrote:If they promised a full ride with ED, and they admit you without a full ride, then I don't see how they could bind you. My app status has been "received" for a week now with no email for an interview or anything yet. Hopefully it is just a case of them being flooded with applicants at this point in time.
