Just put my phone down for a second and came back to a voicemail acceptance!

Applied 10/28, complete 10/29 (I already had an LSAT score, but was already registered for and re-took in December), decision today.

<25% GPA, >75% LSAT, non-resident.
PM for specifics.

So excited!

Dinged via email; can't say I'm too terribly surprised.

Last year the ding/WL emails usually came in the middle of the night. Pretty sure it's an automated system they set up to send them all out at a certain time.

I also got dinged this morning. I'm not real surprised though, it was a definite reach.

For those who have been admitted with $$, what is your amount and what are your stips?

UT doesn't really do stips on heir scholarships. They only require "good academic standing" to retain them.

I'm wondering that, too. On LSN there are very few scholarships reported. I'll let you know if they offer me anything. Hoping packet comes soon.

the stipulation on my offer was simply "good academic standing."

And for the record I'm pretty sure good standing means a GPA of 1.90 or higher AND no F's. That said, the curve is 3.3, so you have to really screw up to drop below that. The 1L curve requires that "at least 5% of grades must be C+, C, D, or F," i.e. only about 15-30 people in the entire class getting below a B- in a course. After 1L, the requirement is that about 10% get below B- in courses on the curve (smaller courses and courses with papers often aren't on the curve, and seminars are never curved).

Wish I would have seen that today. When were you accepted? I want some $$$$ letters, and it shouldn't take long since I'm 3/4 of a mile out from the school :P

Sometimes I got stuff from UT in Houston before someone who lived across the street from the law school. Don't fret!

Yeah, the sooner you make peace with the fact that the whole law school thing is a series of repeated sucky waits, the better. LSAT score, admissions, scholarship money, finals results, job offers, bar results, etc., etc.

Sorry to hear about the dings over the weekend. So UT is already making decisions on those of us who were held? Anyone get in?

I still haven't even gotten a status check yet and I submitted 10 days ago. I emailed admissions and they said they are still processing. Howcome it didn't take this long for anyone else?!

I believe the status checker comes once everything is received and processed. It isn't very helpful anyway, it just tells you that your app is complete and then later a few days after you get an admission call. I'd assume that at this point they're getting a higher volume of applications and so processing is taking longer.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
