I feel you. I wrote one general PS and then rewrote it (to great improvement I might add) for HYS. Overall, my applications submitted to the T14 as compared to those submitted to the T3 were as dramatically different as they were inferior.

I just wish I hadn't rewritten it just for Y :(

Hi,

This was probably asked elsewhere but I don't want to go through all the comments... :(

I was wondering if there was a page limit to college/post-college activities section for the application.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

I don't think so, but how many pages do you have? 5?

I haven't checked yet but it's probably around 7... (that's the length of my CV I think?)

I received a mailing a while back from YLS asking me to apply because I was recognized as a distinguished diverse student (I'm Lebanese). Obviously it doesn't hurt to try, but what do you think the chances are? Lebanese doesn't count as a URM from what I've been told, but do you all think this letter may point to the contrary?

I'm a 166/3.97 so the only way I think I'd get in is as a URM (unless I hold out and retake in June)

7.. pages? How are you formatting them, that seems like a lot of space for that section, even if you've been extraordinarily active in important/relevant things.

My college activities section was only one page. I figured that was ok since I sent in a resume with the same stuff listed in more detail.

This would probably fall under Asha's "remember for years" category hth.

ahahaha

Uhm it's 7 pages not because I'm using massive spaces.. but I don't know, I just have a lot of stuff. Nothing I would think is super impressive but that's just what I did during and after college. Maybe one or two line description for each? (or do I straight up LIST?)

But having said that, I did not elaborate anything on my resume (and it actually omits a lot of stuff) because I had to fit everything in one page (as recommended on LSAC instruction for Yale Apps).

I didn't think 7 pages CV was that rare, especially since CV is meant to list out everything that you've done (within reason, nothing like "I play Starcraft like a champ")...

Have you been in the workforce for a significant time? If so, that's probably a reasonable CV. If you're only a few years out of college though thats probably super excessive in all aspects...

What is "remember for years"? Should I cut it down?
