Thanks! I obviously felt that a higher score would have been the ideal, but I do feel that 165 doesn't look like a kiss of death at all based on some rummaging through LSN and MyLSN. Looks like scholi stuff is more of a crap shoot though. I'll probably heed the retake advice for negotiation purposes....

Oh trust me, I know all about that part time job feeling. Balancing a full time job and the LSAT for December was one of the hardest things I've done to date, but now that I have the experience under my belt, hopefully studying for this time around won't be as painful.

Yep I just worked a relatively straightforward 40 hr/week job while studying, and even that was a struggle. You'd be surprised how much you retain though: I didn't touch my prep materials for almost 3 months between my two takes, and I don't feel like I had to re-learn much at all. You can really focus in on your mistakes the second time around, and it is a lower pressure situation on game day. Definitely worth trying a few practice tests at least to see what's up!

And the word on the street (from older Wash U folks and the renowned law school insider Mike Spivey) is that last year was a strategically generous year where they threw some money around to hold a 166 median. This year unfortunately, is not rumored to be the full scholly fiesta that last year was. And note, as silly as this sounds, 165 is not 166. Every point matters. That's why I'm trying to encourage this applicant, and almost everyone else, to give it another try if they wanna save money (which they should in this job market/life in general)

That's what I've been hearing too. Like I said from MyLSN, my numbers point to a kinda coin toss in terms of scholarship pay out, some people struck gold others didn't since 2011. WUSTL is awesome but not at sticker, though at least the city is dirt cheap when it comes to COL, so thats a plus....

Yep, that's why I recommend both letting your current apps play out AND studying for a retake. If you get a Wash U acceptance and scholarship that is pleasing to your situation, no harm done. But if you get WL'ed or are facing sticker price, a retake even during your cycle could be huge.

True that about COL. One of the many reasons I love the Midwest!

So far, everyone has said they have been pretty straight forward interviews. Just a few questions about your background, why you want to go to law school/what career are you looking for, and why WUSTL specifically.

Acceptance email batch today!

And the interview went so smoothly. Mine was with Mary Clifford and she was so cordial that it hardly felt like an interview and more like a conversation, like everyone else has said. The questions weren't too demanding, but I found that coming in with knowledge of WUSTL's programs really helped me.

Just got my second email from the admissions office. It was similar to the admittance email, but had stuff about the admitted students week. There was no mention of my application being sent to the scholarship committee. Is this the same email that many of you received yesterday? And if so, have we determined that it essentially means that there will be no scholarship coming?

Thats the one. I got it yesterday too and was a little bummed but it seems like WUSTL would really have to be changing their scholarship priorities to not offer any aid to some of these people. I'm a splitter so I know I'm not the best applicant, but I do have 170+ and there was like no one who wasn't getting some kind of aid once they were above the 75th% last year

Interview today followed by acceptance e-mail a couple hours later! Very excited. I can't attend at sticker but am hopeful to negotiate a decent scholarship once some people withdrawl and go T14. Looking forward to meeting many of you in the fall. Happy New Years to everyone!

who did you interview with? I also had my interview yesterday, but haven't heard anything yet. hoping this isn't a bad sign...
