On another note, congrats to all of you who got in!!
From what I've heard, UVA came close to 20% of the final class being accepted off the waitlist last cycle.
That's certainly promising then. UVA is my #1 choice so I'd patiently wait well into summer for an offer.
Make sure to write a convincing LOCI and keep in touch with them. You may also want to look into other schools in Virginia, because they pull a large portion of their transfers from those schools. Also not a bad idea to discuss with a dean which schools they think would provide the best opportunity for you to transfer out of to uva in your 2L this will definitely show them your continued desire to attend.
Excellent advice. I will most definitely do this. Thanks!

Sorry for asking again - Does the interview request show up on the status checker mailings list?

Mine has not. I got the email about 45 minutes ago, and I just checked my status page, and there was no change at all.

Is an interview necessary for admission? I'm pretty interested in UVA but am confused about their admissions procedures. I'm above both 75ths, wrote a "Why UVA," and went complete on 9/24 but have heard nothing since.

It varies a lot IMO. I wouldn't worry.

I've gone a month without anything either. I think they just do things at their own pace.

I would not worry, if you are in the YP category and you wrote a Why X statement you may not even need the interview. People have been accepted without any interview.

So, I'm assuming we will be seeing you in Charlottesville next year?

I had my interview 15 days ago and it went very well, but I still haven't heard anything.

I'm RD and in-state.

To all of you who have been accepted, are you all from out-of-state?

this is probably a super nub question but I thought UVA did not do interviews, or so it says on their website. how does one schedule an interview?

Uva has not been big on interviews until this cycle. It seems that they are taking a more holistic approach and really want to know as much about the candidate as possible before offering admission. You cannot schedule an interview though. Uva picks those applicants they would like to interview. Good luck!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
