I think for WLed people it's more relevant to know how many of the admitted will withdraw after the deposit deadline.
I thought they accepted 800 some applicants every year though only approx. 500 accept? Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not sure if this is true or where I got this info..

Any predictions for future JS1s? Or do we think they've already grabbed the people they're trying to admit for the predicted wave in May?

In this vein, I really hope HYS people (and really everyone, for that matter) updates their LSN profiles, as imperfect as LSN may be, since it's literally the only way we have of judging where we stand in regard to the remainder of the applicant pool.

@shakespeare: Regulus has a spreadsheet called Law School Data (I think...) that shows historical admit and yield rate. Generally they admit around 860 (+/-15), with 555 (+/-5) attending.

From the blog
We will continue to interview students throughout the summer as we finalize the class.

I'm pretty sure people are slowly leaving the Facebook groups for schools they know they won't be attending and some are (for the first time) joining the Facebook group of the school they deposited at. I think the Facebook group numbers will likely fluctuate for a while until people are confident about where they will be attending school next fall.
It matters no less than any of the things we endlessly chew over on TLS. I'm trying to figure out if watching the Facebook group will give us an idea of how many spots have opened up and therefore what our chances are. If people are not removed from the group then we can't use that to estimate how many spots they are trying to fill.
I think we can still use the group size to roughly estimate how many spots there are avilable class since people will presumably leave the Harvard Class of 2016 FB group if they are not going to be in the Harvard Class of 2016.

I agree with this prediction as well.

There's simply no precedent for sporadic admits. It's always been one large wave in May and then a tiny ripple in August, no?

The graphs on page 1 of this thread show there's no "trickle" going on.

It's either wave-ripple, or wave-wave-ripple.

Not sure why would think this constant trickle is going to happen.

I define "sporadic throughout the summer" as "constant trickle"

was about to argue with you about the definitions of wave, ripple and trickle, and point out that I never used "trickle" in my premonition, but then I didn't

Where are you getting this? What does "july admit" mean? How is that different from "wave"

Go to LSN. Go to Harvard. Go to Applicants. Go to 2011-2012 cycle. Sort by status. Go to page 4 and scroll down for the WL-->admits.

There was one person admitted in July. Not a "constant trickle", but I would definitely refer to it as "sporadic" and not a "wave".

We need to have clear definitions of all important terms. Otherwise we will spend the better part of the summer quibbling each time JS picks up a phone. Was it a wave, ripple or trickle? Or was it a flood, surge, spate, tide, torrent, stream (steady or not), flow, dribble, splash, or spurt?

Helix, we're counting on you to set us on the straight path.

For some reason whenever I hear/read the word 'dribble' I think of adult incontinence... Let's not use it in the WL terminology :?
