IN as of yesterday. Submitted 1/28, received letter 2/20- quick turn around for me. Underwhelmed w/ the 22,500 total scholarship so I`m hoping to negotiate. Anybody in the same spot?
Oh, and I live in Manhattan Beach, brutal commute!! By LA standards, that's almost reason enough not to go.

I'm started to get frustrated, on numbers alone I am a solid candidate for this school (at/above 75% margins). My account has been complete since 12/5 with no word.
I got an email yesterday saying basically "we know we're taking a long time, sorry". What gives? I know this cycle has been tough on admit depts, but DANG it's been hard on me too!

Got the same email, I've heard loyola is notoriously slow in giving out decisions... I'm thinking of calling them if I don't hear back in a week...

Loyola is just slow with decisions. I submitted mid-December and didn't get in until like March.

Did anyone else get an email from them about a chat? Was that all applicants or just admitted?

This sounds like my situation. If I live at home I'll be going from Camarillo, but I can go on the metrolink from there. Although, if classes start early (8-9am) it'll suck to have to commute so far. But, also, Loyola is closer to DT and the firms/places to get internships are more accessible that from Pepp, especially if you're reliant on public transportation.martymoose wrote:The alternative is Pepperdine, which is a good half an hour from everywhere, so really it's about the same in terms of driving. I can read or type on a laptop on the train as easily as I can in the library or at home. I'm going to test it a few times before I make up my mind.CO2016YEAH wrote:That's a heck of a commute, but sound reasoning. Don't you think you'll get sick of that pretty quickly, though?martymoose wrote: "Crazy" is my commute. I live in Newbury Park, which isn't even in the same county. I used to live in Santa Monica, but I moved out here a couple years ago (long story).
My tentative plan is to drive about 20 minutes to Moorpark and ride the train to Union Station. From there, it should be 5 or 10 minutes by Red Line to 7th and Figueroa where I will pick up the shuttle to school. My hope is that I can use this time on the train to get some work done. My day will have about 3 hours or more of commute in it, but the actual amount of attention required from me should be much less than if I still lived on the westside and had to drive down the 10 everyday.

No. I've been to Loyola many times before (for work even) so I didn't make it out.Pleasye wrote:Did you go to the admitted students day?dproduct wrote:Anyone going to do the chat thing on the 28th?
