Re: Wake Forest c/o 2016
Anyone accepted on or around Jan 31 receive their acceptance mailing yet? I didn't scholarship notification in my email, and was hoping to receive the physical acceptance before I attempt to negotiate with Wake. I really, really, really want to go here and am hoping I can get some money out of them or have a nice surprise waiting in my acceptance!

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2016
I was accepted before Jan 31 and I haven't received my acceptance letter yet. All I have is the e-mail. But, my scholarship info was in the e-mail and I think a lot of people said they got their scholarship info in their email too. Just a note, I emailed the Dean of Admissions asking for my application to be reviewed again to see if a greater scholarship awarded was justified. I did this because I got a lot of money from other schools. He said they rarely end up giving more money and it is pointless to negotiate until you have all your offers in. So, if do ask for money/more money I would wait until you get all you offers in. He also said it needs to be from a peer school so if you don't have more money from a comparative school it wouldn't really do any good to ask. I hope you do get something though. I'm in the same boat as you I really want to go but it is sooo expensive and I don't want to take out a huge loan if I don't have to.1693 wrote:Anyone accepted on or around Jan 31 receive their acceptance mailing yet? Hope that helps some! Good luck!

If anyone on here that is going to the ASD friday wants to get thirsty downtown on thursday PM me, it'd be great to explore downtown and hang out with other potential students (or current students on here).
After all, alcohol is probably the greatest social lubricant.

The bar review tonight is at Rec Billiards, so quite a few law students will be there. It starts at 9, but most people tend to show up around 10. Rec Billiards is on 4th St. (downtown).OzyM wrote:If anyone on here that is going to the ASD friday wants to get thirsty downtown on thursday PM me, it'd be great to explore downtown and hang out with other potential students (or current students on here).

Anybody know how parking is on campus if you buy a pass? Is it insanely difficult to find a spot if you don't show up early for class?

There's a decent gym not too far from the law school (just on the other side of the field hockey field/tennis courts. It's not huge, but it has treadmills, ellipticals, stair climbers, bikes, weight machines, and free weights. I go twice a week. You just need a student ID.slawww wrote:For any current/Wake grads.... I can't really speak to how it is this year since I don't drive this year, but the last two years it was somewhat difficult the later you showed up. But I don't hear people complaining about it this year like I did last year, so it might not be as bad.syd625 wrote:Anybody know how parking is on campus if you buy a pass? Waitlisted here too!
I'm honestly completely surprised because my numbers are terrible (160/3.1). But hey! WOW I GOT WAITLISTED! I'm pretty excited. But, not gonna lie, I probably had a pretty stellar application and I've worked at a non profit since I graduated 3 years ago and my boss is an attorney and she probably wrote me the best LOR anyone has ever read.

Congrats, the email title had me worried at first but I'm not surprised I was WL'd. I kinda botched the interview. Hopefully the wait won't be too longleilz wrote:Waitlisted here too!

Yeah, I had checked the status checker about 30 minutes before getting the e-mail and it still said 'in review'. It's updated to waitlisted now.2013 wrote:Did you get an email?

Yeah I was terrible at the interview. TERRIBLE. I babbled and sounded like an idiot.wannabelawstudent wrote:Congrats, the email title had me worried at first but I'm not surprised I was WL'd. I kinda botched the interview. Hopefully the wait won't be too longleilz wrote:Waitlisted here too!

And the email title definitely worried me, too. All I saw was that and the preview that was like "We sincerely appreciate your interest in Wake Forest..." and I was very sad. But hey. I'll take the waitlist. I was kind of getting attached to the idea of not having to move, though.

Yeah, I was refreshing my e-mail b/c I knew I had some decisions coming today, and g-mail one sentence preview said "We sincerely appreciate your interest in the Wake Forest University School of Law. After careful consideration....", I'm convinced Wake started off the e-mail like that on purpose to mess with us.leilz wrote:Yeah I was terrible at the interview. TERRIBLE. Sorry to hear about the WLs, guys. Hope you guys hear back soon! What didn't you guys like about the interview? I thought it was great because I felt like I got a chance to show I'm better than my numbers might imply.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
