Maybe they know you're going to go to NYU or Columbia anyway so they figure "why bother?"
Eta: Do you actually want to go to UCLA?
Or Berkeley, for that matter.
Not trying to be a downer, but I think that could be why you haven't received news. I went complete in September and the other day got the waitlist email (My numbers: 169/4.14). I'm figuring they waitlisted me to see if I really was interested in attending or had applied as a "safety" school. Based on my experience, my prediction is you might get waitlisted. If UCLA is your top choice, I'm sure you will be accepted (likely with money) once you submit a LOCI and show you want to go there and aren't applying because you are afraid of not getting into a T-14. If UCLA was more of a safety school for you - relax. You have plenty of T-14 acceptances coming your way.

Meanwhile plenty of people with my numbers haven't even gotten in, and others with lower have some big $$$. I wouldn't put too much stock into it, although a LOCI at the new year might not be a terrible idea for those still waiting. They seem to like people who show interest and reach out to them (at least in my case after I was admitted).
I think I'll do that by mid-Jan if I haven't heard yet. Thanks for the tip.
Edit: I'll wait until late-Jan, in case they are just waiting on Dec. LSAT scores before deciding on us.

A little bit surprised. Maybe yield protect? I can't be too sad - I already have offers from two T-14s and several other T-14 acceptances. Going to send the withdraw letter soon.
Good luck to everyone!

I'm surprised as well given your numbers. Had you apply to their Epstein program in public interest?
Congrats on your others acceptances!

Is your application generic or UCLA-tailored? I have strong numbers as well (3.92 168), applied in SEPT and no word yet. I did wrote the David J. Epstein (public interest program) essay to show my sincere interest, I hope it helps but if your application is generic, maybe their doing YP.

No, I didn't apply to the Epstein program. I was going to because I am planning on going into the non-profit/public interest field, but in the end I decided against writing the essay because it sounded like they don't notify the recipients until late in the cycle, and I'd figured I'd already have made up my mind/accepted an offer from another school by then. I also didn't tailor my application specifically to UCLA, which I think hurt me and showed them that I wasn't likely to attend if accepted. If UCLA had been one of my top choices, doing that I think it would have made a difference.

4321, but no vm.

Could it be the asking for money people call from the same general line? Probably. Oooooh boy. Hmmph.

risa wrote:I haven't applied yet but still intend to, though I'm starting to think I've screwed myself by waiting this long. I got the rest of my apps out in November but plan to apply to the Epstein program and still haven't completed that essay. I also never got my NYU or BU apps out because I was planning to submit extra public interest essays there too. I guess I'll go take a gander at LSN to see how screwed I am if I apply to UCLA (and NYU) this late in the cycle!
I'm afraid that the deadline for Root-Tilden-Kern was January 1, so you may as well get off your NYU application without waiting for the essay (unless you are only willing to attend with public interest scholarship)

Checking in... Likely a donation with my app fee but as one of my top choices, thought I would throw my hat in. Cheers!
