Congrats! Now you can really enjoy your travels. I hope Andy is just awaiting my new LSAT score, which I think might be released within 24 hours judging by today's June waiting thread meltdown.... Anyway, enjoy!illy22 wrote:I just got Cornblatted!!!!

I regret to inform you that the Committee on Admissions is unable to offer you admission to Georgetown University Law Center this fall. Your placement on the Waiting List reflected our confidence in the strength of your application. At this time, however, we have received deposits from more applicants than we have seats available in the first year class. Consequently, we are unable to extend an offer of admission to you this year.
We appreciate your interest in our program and wish you success in your future endeavors.

Does anyone have anything new to report, especially those who didn't receive the last email?

Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2012
Nothing for me. The last email I received was a "feeler" email from Alison last week. Nothing since then! I am trying not to go nuts with the waiting. I wonder how operational GULC is right now given the power outages?nellie_bly wrote:Does anyone have anything new to report, especially those who didn't receive the last email?

Well, I imagine they are dutifuly meeting in some form of private chambers, debating and viewing files by candle light.

My office is 1 mile from GULC. My office has both power and AC as I am working diligently drafting legal matters. I would assume GULC should be the same. In fact, GULC announced that they are open for business today:PoliticalJunkie73 wrote:Nothing for me. The last email I received was a "feeler" email from Alison last week. Nothing since then! Most ppl who are out of power are in VA and MD. Some of my friends brought their pets to work because no AC at home.

From Twitter:"@LawSchoolFacts: Via @GeorgetownLaw: Georgetown Law is open today, Monday, July 2."
Couldn't have made that up if I tried... Probably the most unambiguous news any of us have gotten from them...

What I find really surprising is that those who got booted from the waitlist seem to have been on the SPWL or PWL. Wouldn't you think they'd start with the general WL?

I noticed that too. Theory: Schools share deposit data. If Georgetown sees a person on their waitlist deposited at NYU or Harvard or Penn, they might assume accepting this person will hurt their yield.Robespierre wrote:What I find really surprising is that those who got booted from the waitlist seem to have been on the SPWL or PWL. OR the other theory is that they basically make quotas for each wait list, and they've met their spwl quota first, since that was their priority.

If most of the Admissions office took vacation this week because of the July 4 holiday and no one hears anything more this week, I will be so incredibly sad.

Hi folks,
I've been a lurker for a while on TLS, and I know how frustrating the wait list experience can be. If it's any help (or perhaps just another piece of vaguely-good news to string you along
, I wanted to let you know I withdrew from GTown today. Hope that opens something up for someone who really wants to go.

I think we should all compete in an obstacle course to see who gets the new spot. At least then the process wouldn't be so repetitive!

Schools can see deposit data via LSAC after May 15th (I believe). So, yes, schools can see where else you have deposited at.ned wrote:I noticed that too. Theory: Schools share deposit data. Re: Georgetown Waitlist 2012
Just got in too!! notification through email, saying I will receive a letter in the next days
also, just to give more hope to others on the WL, I was on the regular waitlist, with a very low LSAT score, got kicked off the waitlist end of June, but then received a high LSAT score on the June LSAT and emailed them about reconsidering my application,,, which they did!! so there's hope for everyone!
