Nope. Received a short and unsweet "no."zanzbar wrote:on their website the mandatory curve is between 2.9-3.1 so I guess somewhere between median and top 3/4. Anyone have any luck negotiating?

U of H just had roughly $10 billion cut from its funding for the 2012-2013 year. Probably not helping the scholarship situation.mtyler19 wrote:Nope. I think he meant 10 million. The entire state budget cut was only 15 billion total.

Did they seriously just answer with the word "no."? That's weak.mtyler19 wrote:Nope. Received a short and unsweet "no."zanzbar wrote:on their website the mandatory curve is between 2.9-3.1 so I guess somewhere between median and top 3/4. Anyone have any luck negotiating?

So my current status date changed to file in review as of 3/9/2012 and it's been like that for a couple of hours. Interesting since it's the 8th.

Finally heard yesterday! I'd nearly given up. Got an accept, but not sure about $$$ yet. Once I find that out I'm pretty sure I'll withdraw pretty soon so count on one potential spot opening soon

Haha no, it was just short. Basically "I am not able to increase it. Let me know if you have any questions."JimmysParty wrote:Did they seriously just answer with the word "no."? Um yes I do, why the hell not?

Probably not, I used my weakest offer. I'll try again later with my better one and see what they say.JimmysParty wrote:So does this mean they don't negotiate at all?

So I am assuming that if I was accepted in late January and I didn't receive a scholarship yet, I won't be getting one....

That's the assumption I'm working with. I was accepted Feb. 3rd. I think they do matching scholarships, though.jgrady1 wrote:So I am assuming that if I was accepted in late January and I didn't receive a scholarship yet, I won't be getting one....

I'm giving them two more days then I'm going to send them my other offers and see what their move is.

Any one know if admissions office is out for spring break? I want to negotiate my scholarship this week and I don't want to send the e-mail if it wont be checked till next week- buried in a pile of other e-mails.
