Nice. Gives me hope. My numbers are similar to yours. (165/3.6/URM/Strong Softs).

I want out of Texas so badly unless UT, which is the only school in Texas I applied to, is the only top 20 school that admits me.

As long as the rest of your application is tight-knit and solid, I'm sure you have a great chance of leaving TX! The advantage (or possible disadvantage) of being a URM is that they really look at your application holistically. You're not just a couple numbers.

For those accepted, how long did it take for you to receive your admit packet after receiving the phone call? I got the call this week, and I'm anxiously awaiting the packet!

Don't have an acceptance yet, but I'm assuming it depends on where you live.

In california, maybe a day or two. Outside, possibly up to a week if you live out in Maine or something.

I think UCLA did the right (maybe wrong depending on your perspective?) thing in not providing a status checker. I am not obsessively checking.

In my case Dean Schwartz didn't mention any aid during the call so I assumed I didn't get any but later a scholarship offer came with the actual acceptance letter.

I never ended up speaking with Dean Schwartz, but my admit packet came yesterday. If there's nothing about a scholarship in there, I'm getting nada, right? Little surprised they wouldn't throw me a little cash. Stats are 3.7/174

One of the letters available on the Admitted Students site is a message from Dean Schwartz advising admits to let him know of any $$ offers from other schools, bc they'd like to remain competitive.

I don't think it's wrong, but definitely weird. It's the only of the dozen+ schools I applied to that doesn't have a status checker. It's nice to know where you are in the process - besides the vagueness of a "complete" email. They could be like Michigan and take a few weeks to gather and enter the info before sending you a login name and password. Or like Cornell and not update the thing on a regular basis, but get to it eventually...

UT took about 2 weeks to send me the email with my UTEID (which I already had since I went to undergrad there). Berkeley took 10 days to give me an acceptance after the application went "Under Review." I've seen people on here who barely moved to first review at USC after almost three months of waiting. This process sucks. Maybe it's good I can't check with UCLA. It will come when it comes.

Congrats to everyone who got in! I just got the call from Dean Schwartz right now. (Made me wonder why he's still calling at almost 7 at night, but I definitely appreciate it.) He didn't mention anything about scholarships on the phone, so I'll have to wait and see if anything will come in the mail.
