I just checked my account and I have is the Lisle, $8900 per year. I'm not one to poo-poo $27,000... BUT, I got a full ride at St. John's with 166/3.2. Does anyone think can expect some additions to this or is this what I'm looking at? If so, the decision has kinda been made for me-- St. John's for free. (or hope fordham's waitlist is good to me). I was really excited about Brooklyn though, bummer

As stated earlier in the thread, there are multiple kinds of scholarships, which they add together and convey to you in mid-march by regular mail.

I'm in pretty much the exact same boat as you. I'm 99% sure I'm choosing St. John's. Not enough of a difference between SJU and BLS, so I'm taking the money, regardless of what happens with my wait lists.

So I'm up to almost $30k now, and at first, I was like "Great!"

Then I did that math and realized that would still leave me with approx $120k debt.

I believe I saw a 1L a few pages back (or a someL) who said that (s)he had been given scholarships until they added up to a full-ride.

The commas seperating scholarship amounts (Academic Achievement and Centennial, for example)- are those differentiating the amounts that the scholarship or grant can award you? Or are they differentiating what they give you for the first year, second year, and third year?

Mine is doing the same thing now. Oh well, guess it's time to wait for the letter.

I made it up to $36k w/o the Academic Achievement grant so I guess with that added on I'll be happy with what they're giving.

everyone thinks its their section, including me. have some freakin geniuses in my section--and everyone is super hardworking. but theres ppl in other sections that swear their section is stacked. maybe bls just gives out a ridic amount of money and everyone has some type of scholarship? nobody is jerkish enough to tell they have a full scholarship tho, so no telling whether they put the huge schols in one section.

My scholarship is full..and it started at 32k, so...negotiating will go a long way, but dont count on the stipulation being lifted

I find it fascinating how candid people are on this forum about their scholarhips/lsats scores/gpas. But once you get to law school, everyone keeps mum about how much cash they are getting. At least this has been my experience. It's as taboo as talking about how much money your friends make at their jobs.

i think because nobody wants to look like theyre showing off. Personally, I am more likely to tell people about how badly I bombed my torts exams than how I nailed civ pro. It just seems odd being like "yeah....so....I got a full scholarship."
