Congrats to all you guys. Im kind of jealous. In a vacuum (one w/o this economy, and the Cali budget crisis) UC-Berk wouldve been one of my top choices, if not my very top choice. The school has a great personality.

I had the application status checker email on 11/12 and then had the "UCR" email on 11/17. (Was pretty excited!)
But anyone has an idea how long it would take to actually hear the decision from them?

Yeah, I meant the student/faculty committee review. Even if you checked "no" to students seeing your file, you may still go through the faculty review process. The presumed "auto-admits" don't have to go through that process, and these are the people getting calls now.

I'm almost certain that not everyone goes to committee review. I remember from last cycle that there is like a 1/3 chance of being admitted once you're put in committee review, so they'd have to reject some people before that point.

The website says (and someone posted it earlier in the thread) that there are essentially auto-admits and auto-rejects. Dean Tom starts off by admitting those that would have a high chance of being admitted by the committee, and rejecting those that would have a high chance of being rejected by the committee. Everyone else goes on to the committee review.

A few pages ago someone called them and asked whether they were open today. They said yes, but probably closing early.

I received a call at 11:30 a.m CST. The admissions lady was one of the nicest human beings around. I'll definitely be attending their ASW.
