Not to derail the thread, but good for you after that Duke debacle!
And since our numbers are pretty close, hopefully we'll both end up with some nice acceptances :D

Edit: To make this post more topic-related, here's hoping to an unlikely acceptance (retaker).
Yeah I'm an LSAT retaker too :(

But based on past threads, NYU seems to overlook it if your latest score is significantly higher. I really hope they do haha
Yeah, I'm almost exactly at NYU and Columbia's medians with my new score (and within .02 with my GPA), and way way way below 25th at both with either my old score or the average. Crossing my fingers that they do care about their "rankings" enough to take the newer score into much greater account.

Yeah my new score is above NYU's median but my average is at their 25% and my GPA is between their 25% and median. Fingers crossed!

RD or ED?
RD

So, wait, are people expecting RD to be notified earlier than ED? Or simultaneously?

Looks like simultaneous is the most likely

How did the first wave of acceptances hear back last year? I know that later in the cycle NYU specialized in sneak-attack snail mail acceptances, but what about the 12/01 admits? I need to know which mode of communication to obsessively check...

Last year was all snail-mail, but they didn't have status checkers. So that might change things.

This is gonna be a rough week!

ETA: & today is my monthaversary of being under review. C'mon, NYU. Love me!

So if theoretically people get some letters on 12/1, they would have to send 'em today probably, riiight? Or have them ready?

Now I really want to go over and creep on the admissions office. But I don't think they'd appreciate that... :)

Sadly, based on my LSN stalking, seemed like a lot of people last year who reported decisions on 12/1, reported the postmark date and not the date they got the package :(

How unhelpful. Someone should check when the thread equivalent to this one blew up last year.

Just checked. First acceptance on TLS wasn't received in the mail until 12/3 :(

Ouch. Looks like Friday/Saturday then for obsessive mailbox checking? Duly noted and scheduled.

Why did you say that? It's just a subway ride away for me; I could become a creepy adcomm stalker in less than 20 minutes!

I was already debating leaving work early and heading to a bar to watch El Clasico. Might as well.

I just imagined you strolling into the admissions office, casually poking around and whistling while sekritly looking for any purple envelopes being stuffed.
