dualdegreecandidate wrote:Hello guys, this has been a very helpful thread so far and I just wanted to get your thoughts on my application.

I submitted a few hours after the deadline - so 2/2 - and went complete on 02/25. Do you think I can still expect an answer or response before April 1 or do you imagine my application might not be considered equally? Does anyone know if late submissions still receive acceptances?
Roughly same position here, though I was at least before the deadline; I went complete in Late January. No JS1, but no ding. I'm wondering whether or not my only shot is getting in off of the waitlist at this point.

No news today (Harvard or otherwise) would be really disheartening

I don't :( lol sorry, I just think it would be very unlikely that they would send out js2's this early/js1's this late. Here's hoping you prove me wrong :P

Complete since 1/11, submitted 12/23. Nothing. I can't believe there are people waiting 6 months. Done holding out hope for a long shot JS1. Can't they just tell me my GPA is garbage to them and be done?

Also hoping to be proved wrong, but I am not very hopeful for today either. It just seems too early compared to last year for the last big JS2 wave. Given next week is when the last big wave is accepted before / on Apr. 1, I would think they would just save whatever decisions are ready to go for the big wave next week.

Also it seems so far all the JS2 waves this cycle have been spread across two days (Thurs - Fri), and I don't think we had any word of any movement at all yesterday. Add to that the beginning of the Easter weekend holidays (does anyone know if they would even be working today?), so I really think we are in for a wait until at least next week for any more movement...

Don't let all this pessimism dampen your good feeling hopefulmarie!! Happy Friday y'all. Lets enjoy this last one before the predicted amount of ding/WL/JS2 madness next week.

+180. At least we aren't waiting for our LSAT scores. That was far worse imo.

Oh god the LSAT score wait was awful. Did you take the December as well? I spent my whole Christmas and New Years breaks in fear that game 3 completely ruined my score...

Yes, god yes, game 3 was legitimately terrifying in the moment, although I ended up getting everything right in the LG section. The second LR section gave me the most trouble.

I got my score when I was home for Christmas break. My friend texted me that scores were out so I ran to grab a computer (which of course decided to glitch at that moment) and my mom said after that she was like "oh god if she got a bad score this will be awful." I didn't so I didn't ruin Christmas.

The last JS2 wave of the cycle has happened on 3/31 or 4/1 for the last couple years. So I'd hedge my bets on the end of next week.

Yeah, I'm not really "in queue" for a JS2, if you know what I mean. I'm headed for the WL

I just got a JS1....I was completely unprepared for this as I assumed none would be going out this late...but I also think there is some other stuff going on with my application so I don't think it's normal...

Congrats!!! Could you tell us if there are any other openings for JS1s? If so, how many/when?

Thanks everyone! The reason I know it's certainly unusual is that I didn't have to schedule it, they told me the date and time. I probably shouldn't post here lol since it's obviously me. (p.s. @HLS if you see this please accept me I really really want to come)

That's so odd! Well, I'm very happy for you, and glad that my gloomy predictions yesterday didn't come entirely true :) Make sure to test your skype connection beforehand, try to get optimal lighting (I used my roommate's natural light lamp in the background, because my room otherwise looked too orange-tinted) and above all, relax! If they invited you for an interview, it means they're seriously considering accepting you. Use that confidence to your advantage!

Also, for the rest of us waiters: isn't it weird how the adcomm likely knows our admissions status already?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
