I definitely had an awkward moment or two as well. I got in all the same. To those scheduling/preparing for/stressing over upcoming JS1s, remember they just want to see who you are, that you aren't insane, and that you have a good idea of what you are doing (or are clear that you don't really know yet and are OK with that).aad993 wrote:Okay for purposes of interview stress alleviation. Pm if interested. it seems that most people on this thread have mad interviewing skills, but perhaps for many being quizzed by strangers in the same boat may be unexpectedly useful.
Q: So what kind of law do you want to practice?
A: Oh! I'm super interested in practicing A-B-Z law. Here's why. *Gives long explanation of A-B-Z law which doesn't actually exist*
Q: I can see why you'd be interested in A-B-C law? *knows what I meant to say, being nice and helping me out*
A: Yeah! A-B-Z law!!!!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: Um... keep on practicing A-B-Z law (which, may I remind you, does not actually exist). Except, doing more important... stuff? Like, in charge of stuff! That's important!![]()
I was still admitted. Make whatever wild conclusions you like from this.
Then again, I read similar advice in the lead-up to my JS1, and I still freaked out about it before, during, and after, right up to when JS called today. So you know, whatever. :p
