But it's getting awfully close, I got accepted at another school and the deposit is due in a couple of weeks. But I'm still waiting on WF, W&L and WUSTL. Any word on how I can standout? Thanks

If you're serious about going to a school at which you've been waitlisted, then you need to be prepared to deposit elsewhere and wait a long time.

Things that will help get off the waitlist ranked by effectiveness:

One area of the site claims that the first deposit is refundable, but it also lists the deposit dates for 2012, which in the case of the first deposit are 2 weeks earlier than this year.

Do we need to accept the offer first and then place the deposit? When I check WashU admitted portal, it seems we do need to first say whether we accept the offer and then place the deposit~any suggestions?

You pay the seat deposit through the admitted students portal, then you have through June or something to accept your scholly package.

Yeah, I checked in the admitted student portal, I cannot find any link that I can place deposit directly. There is just one link i need to choose whether I accept the offer or not. So I am concerned whether the deposit is binding or not.

WUSTL's employment numbers are similar to its peers, and only a few points behind Vandy/UCLA/etc when it comes to FT LT legal positions. I don't understand your question.

You accept the offer of admission, and then the next page it takes you to is where you can pay the deposit.

i honestly havent seen anything on TLS to suggest any seat deposit is binding, ED is, but i think you can even bail on the 2nd one, youre just a dick for doing it, but there is no legal binding have to come have to pay tuition kinda contractual obligation in any of it
