I'm a horrible judge of lady's dress codes, so I'm guessing they were also dressed in business casual attire. I didn't notice anyone in the Hillary-Clintonesque lady suits. Dean Cornblatt asked questions to provoke discussion about the law school admissions process. It wasn't personal at all. I think he wanted to see how we interact in groups when discussing abstract principles that have "real world" implications.

Chill and funny is right. He definitely made everyone laugh a few times! Because Cornblatt appoints a pair of leaders to guide the discussion (or at least he did for ours), I think all the interviews go a little differently. The best way to prepare would be just to think about the admissions process. How important should the LSAT be in comparison to GPA, socioeconomic backround, geography, etc. Should race play a role? Should legacy play a role? Should Georgetown accept only students who have most demonstrably expressed an interest in attending Georgetown? Affirmative action was never discussed directly, but you may want to sort out your own thoughts on the matter. Like many legal issues, the college admissions process is controversial. You'll do fine if you say a couple things, listen to everyone else, and refrain from throwing things at the idiot across the room who thinks that the law school application should, like a beauty pageant, include a talent show and a bikini contest.

Definitely show up early... We started 6 minutes before the hour.

My other suggestion would be to take a couple notes or jot your thoughts down. You will only have 4 or 5 times to speak almost the entire time, and you want each of those times to be succinct and precise (you will only have about 5-6 sentences before you feel like its time to move on to someone else). Also, remember to relax! It is actually an enjoyable experience.

I just got a call from a 202-xxx-xxxx number and I thought it might be the dean of admissions at Georgetown calling me to tell me I'm in!

Instead, it was the vet telling me that the lab tests suggest my cat may have urinary tract infection.

Yeahh, this is killing me. Our #s our similar (I'm -.1 GPA, +1 LSAT) and I was definitely hoping to get an interview. I'm now convinced that no interview request means I'm an auto-reject. Oh well.

They said if I wanted I could include other schools I've been accepted to and any offers I have on the table. Should I include my big admits like Michigan and Berkeley although neither has offered me $?

I don't think he meant disrespect. Just an inquiry. But to answer your question, it could go either way. If you report schools too high, then they may feel that you don't want to go to GULC anyway, but on the other hand, higher up acceptances may enable them to view you as a more desirable candidate.

Personally, I'd include the names of the schools but express an emphatic desire to attend GULC regardless to squeeze out max $$$. Re-create a sort of glorified LOCI/Why GULC but explain the cost will be a major factor in your decision.

I don't think he was trying to be condescending, as I wondered the same thing. I think being Cuban, though not a traditionally recognized URM and possibly not always receiving the same bump, probably help get you considered for merit aid.

Awesome! Congrats! If you include your big admits I would state that GULC is your top choice but aid received will affect your final decision. IMO including big admits will validate you are a great candidate & that they should offer you merit aid.
