Not to interrupt the count, but finally went DLS in the past hour. Do people legitimately just call the main admissions line and ask about the decision?

(Also, how is this possibly less inconvenient for them than just sending out an ding or WL email?)

Would you rather be broken up with via e-mail or snailmail/phone? I wouldn't even be mad if I got a hard copy breakup letter.

Yeah, I just called the main admissions line-they're very used to it and very nice.

I truly have no idea why they don't just email decisions instead. I was attempting to explain Stanford's process to someone last week after I was waitlisted, and they were utterly confused. It's objectively absurd.

Thanks. Just called, and they definitely seemed used to it - I feel bad for whoever is manning the phones right now, I'm sure these calls are annoying.

For posterity, complete around 12/6 (I've forgotten the actual date by now), and it was a WL.

Actually maybe I don't, because either way, I don't think any more acceptances are going out.

It's just hard because until it's over there's still that small piece of me saying "If they really hated your app, they would have dinged you by now. If they knew for sure they were gonna WL you, they would have done it."

DLS just now, called and it was a ding. App has been "under review" since early September, LSAT 174-176 GPA 3.9x. Just happy to finally have an end to my cycle, and to head to NYU this fall.
