second, do we expect nyu to not admit anymore from the waitlist until after the may 20 deposit deadline for the waitlist admits? Highly improbable (just going by common sense), it's only another 6 business days, so I highly doubt it, plus see my answer to your third question

third, do we expect another "wave" of admits or after this one just individuals getting admitted here and there?In past recent cycles, there were multiple "waves" so to speak. However, whether it will be "waves" or simply trickles of a handful of people once in awhile, I don't know. Keep in mind the small sample size of TLS and LSN, and a "wave" is kind of a subjective term. I wouldn't have considered this past round of admits a wave if I were to just go by TLS/LSN. Columbia typically has waves, because they have multiple reviews were they supposedly review their entire waitlist, then admit/reject people (Reserve 1, R2, etc.)

and congrats to all those who were recently admitted!!

I just got the UPS notification - hopefully this means there's another wave of acceptances coming!

I was going to but I think I've decided against living on campus, I am considering a studio by myself or a 2 bedroom and looking for a roommate. While I love NYC, I want to live a little bit away from campus and somewhere a bit quieter than the village.

I'm thinking the same thing. I currently live alone and so the thought of giving up all my furniture for essentially a dorm room isn't incredibly appealing...I've heard FiDi is cheaper and fairly close. Do the majority of 1Ls live in student housing?

Don't know if that counts as a new wave or not - slightly delayed re: WL, UR1, UPS email, & DLS compared to the admits from last week. Maybe i'm just a special snowflake, jk.

If the fin aid trend were to continue this year, tomorrow would be 3 business days later .

ETA: Scholarships ranged from $25k to $62.5k ($25k/$25k/$12.5k) total.

No definitely not everyone (it's the range), it was only a few people actually so they were probably the minority. Also they appeared to be Dean's schollies, which are called merit awards, but sometimes a school calls something a need award (but it's really merit), and other times a merit award is (at least partly) based on need. Not sure what the case is here, some people think that entirely need based scholarships are a myth. I haven't seen anything to refute or prove this.

I would say if you have significant financial need or have strong numbers, you have a shot. NYU is certainly not the stingiest of WL admitters (looking at you Columbia).

Per last year's waitlist thread, people started getting feeler calls June 4th and someone reported being accepted on June 6th.

you can address it to the dean. i did it to the "committee on decisions" or whatever was said in the email that "they" reached the decision.

When was the next round of WL Admits after May 15th last year ?

So, I was using (too much of) my free time earlier looking through last year's and the year's before waitlist forums and found a pattern like this: first wave of waitlist admits to deadline for them to respond: 10 whole days (15th to the 25th and 13th to the 23rd) and that pattern seems the same this year... and then from that deadline that those admits need to respond by to the next sign of admissions (e-mail or call), 6 business days... last year I think it was a Friday to the next next Monday and the year before it was a Monday to the next Tuesday.

So, based on this "pattern" from the previous 2 years, my best guess for "UR," feeler calls, e-mails or some sort of signal of admissions will be 6 business days from the deadline on the 20th... which would be Tuesday the 28th. My 2 cents. It's not a ton to go off of, but it kept me busy...
